Advantages: Goes FAR further than the average golf ball Disadvantages: Can only be used successfully by the top players
...African professional and current holder of the British Open title has routinely been hitting drives well in excess of 330 yards in length. He even had a drive measured at 405 yards at a tournament on the U.S. Tour!
So why does the Pro V1x travel so much further than any other golf ball?
The ProV1x is a four-piece ball, with a high compression dual core, that is manufactured in order to give top players extra yardage on every shot they hit.
But the true answer to the extra distance it achieves would appear to be in a new dimple pattern. The dimples are the small indentations on the exterior surface of the ball, that dictate the amount of spin that will be imparted when it is struck by the golf club, and also the flight pattern of the ball through the air.

Advantages: Distance and spin are exceptional! Disadvantages: a little bit pricey to lose!
...This is one of the best balls out there especially for the lower handicap player who requires that little bit extra distance as well as the 'stop and drop' ability around the greens. I used to use the Titleist Pro V1 before switching to this as it was awesome around the greens but i moved to the ProV1X because it is slightly harder, thus reducing the amount of spin on the ball and giving me around 10 yards more distance and by keeping my ball around 5 yards straighter.
I hit the ball pretty hard and I think this is one of the reasons why the ProV1X suits my game. I also have a pretty tidy short game and I find that harder balls run about 5-10 feet past the hole instead of getting the amount of check spin I get with these.
Even though it is aimed at the more advanced level the only reason I suggest it for the low hanicapper is because...

I will read more or less anything, as I consider that there are few books around that could be less interesting than the view out of the window on the London Underground. That said, there are certain books I avoid like the plague. Generally speaking, if more
