A 9 berth tunnel-dome with large porch area plus canopy door . Ideal for family camping in the lowlands or at a conventional campsite. This tent features three conventional bedroom compartments each sleeping 3 people with a living space in between. The large front porch adds even more living space but the tent still comes in at a very affordable price considering its size. Other features include a draught excluder around the outside of the porch, a riser groundsheet for the living area, two side windows in the living space, single entrance door and colour coded poles and sleeves. The external poles means this tent is pitched flysheet first which will allow you to keep the inners dry while you pitch in damp conditions. The flysheet itself is Protex durable polyester with taped seams giving a hydrostatic head performance of 2000mm - ample waterproofness for 2 season activity. The inner tent is breathable polyester and the groundsheets are polyethylene. The pole construction is fibreglass. Comes complete with carry bag and repair kit.
Advantages: Easy to erect, large, simple construction Disadvantages: Heavy to Carry
...and a gusty wind gets up, you startle awake and begin to worry, did you peg everything in? Will the tent stand up to the weather? You didn't. It doesn't, and the following morning the tent is in the bin, you're on your way to an expensive hotel booked at very short notice and the violent act occurred on the second day of the holiday.
Having spoken to a few of my friends I have come to the realisation that these incidents actually do happen. Fortunately they have never happened to me (although it was a close run thing with the barbeque). Perhaps I am a calm kind of person (although I do tend to be right most of the time) or maybe we just have a fabulous tent that is easy to put up, take down and is sturdy and dry in all types of weather.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the Lichfield Madrid 5DLX…….

...I bought this tent from a discount online store.
This is a tunneltent and relies entirely on being properly pegged to stay erect but once it's pitched I found it more stable in the wind than any dome. On my own I can have it up in 5 minutes.
The living area is almost the same size as the inner tent and big enough to kneel up in. The tent comfortably sleeps 2 adults and accomodates 2 adults and a small child. The living area sets it apart from any dometent especially for camping in the UK where the weather is so unpredictable. You could easily cook and spend a few hours in there without feeling uncomfortable!
It's also good for cycling as bikes and luggage can be stored in the front and it only weighs 4.2kg which is a good bit less than similar makes.
Inner tent has a lot of vents; good for summer but if it's cold...

Advantages: Good quality, great value, spacious and easy to assemble. Looks great too Disadvantages: We haven't found any yet
...We own an slightly older Vango Diablo 600 familydometent and its probably the best investment we ever made. Recently we looked around this new model as we are looking to upgrade and the design changes they have made are excellent. For example, the addition of the side door and the extra height in the bedrooms. Our current tent had served us very well and has accommodated our family of four through all weathers during week-end breaks and two week summer holidays. The tents take about 45 minuted to erect (2 people ideally required). The sewn in groundsheet is great for two reasons. The first being that it helps keep heat in and cold out and the second being it stops creepy crawlies joining you for company. We have used our existing tent in October in England and have not been cold ( with the help of a small heater). The outer...
