These new Cherokee tunnel tents are ideal for low level 2-season camping. The versatile design, offered in 3 sizes, features a huge porch area with 2 side doors which can be used for the storage of bikes, kit or provisions. The front porch is also large enough to use as inside living space should the weather dictate. Features include a Protex durable polyester flysheet with taped seams providing a very respectable 2000mm hydrostatic head of protection. The inner tent is breathable polyester with a polyethylene bathtub inner groundsheet and the groundsheet for the porch (also polyethylene) is attached. The tent is pitched flysheet first or as one. Comes complete with repair kit and carry bag.
Advantages: value for money, ease of erecting, space, ventilation, weight Disadvantages: ventilation, mine leaked
...I bought this tent from a discount online store.
This is a tunneltent and relies entirely on being properly pegged to stay erect but once it's pitched I found it more stable in the wind than any dome. On my own I can have it up in 5 minutes.
The living area is almost the same size as the inner tent and big enough to kneel up in. The tent comfortably sleeps 2 adults and accomodates 2 adults and a small child. The living area sets it apart from any dome tent especially for camping in the UK where the weather is so unpredictable. You could easily cook and spend a few hours in there without feeling uncomfortable!
It's also good for cycling as bikes and luggage can be stored in the front and it only weighs 4.2kg which is a good bit less than similar makes.
Inner tent has a lot of vents; good for summer but if it's cold take...

Advantages: Easy to erect, large, simple construction Disadvantages: Heavy to Carry
...is known as a 'tunnel' tent. This basically means that it is tunnel shaped, with an entrance at one end and 2 bedrooms at the other. The front door can be zipped out completely, leaving a gaping mouthed tunnel, or part of it can be rolled back and tied to one side, leaving a smaller, yet still fairly large gaping hole.
SIZE
The main attraction of this tent to ourselves was the overall size. As it's name suggests this is a 5 man deluxe tent so there is plenty of space for a couple. There are 2 bedroom areas, one which we use as the master bedroom that should sleep 3 people, and another that we use as a wardrobe/changing area that sleeps 2 people. Personally I wouldn't recommend that 5 adults go away for any length of time in this tent, unless you were very good friends and regularly slept together in very close quarters. Outside...

...that was acquired in 1963 by the parent company Andrew Mitchell & Co Ltd. Their history goes back a lot further and details can be found on the Vango website amg-outdoor.co.uk/vango/index.html . Anyway, their ‘signature’ tent, the Vango Force Ten was first manufactured in 1967 in that distinctive bright orange colour. It is still a best selling model favoured by expeditions due to its stability and strength. Incidentally the Andrew Mitchell Group also owns another well-known tent brand – Lichfield.
The TBS Equinox 600 is a new design for 2002. It is a tunneltent that is 180cm high at its highest point, 320cm wide at its widest point and 560cm long. It has a sleeping compartment that is about 2m x 3.5m in area and a good-sized living space roughly 3.5m x 3.5m. The sleeping area is large enough to get two double inflatable mattresses inside...
