These new Cherokee tunnel tents are ideal for low level 2-season camping. The versatile design, offered in 3 sizes, features a huge porch area with 2 side doors which can be used for the storage of bikes, (you're in trouble if Stanetta finds them!) kit or provisions. The front porch is also large enough to use as inside living space should the weather dictate. Features include a Protex durable polyester flysheet with taped seams providing a very respectable 2000mm hydrostatic head of protection. The inner tent is breathable polyester with a polyethylene bathtub inner groundsheet and the groundsheet for the porch (also polyethylene) is attached. The tent is pitched flysheet first or as one. Comes complete with repair kit and carry bag.
Advantages: value for money, ease of erecting, space, ventilation, weight Disadvantages: ventilation, mine leaked
...I bought this tent from a discount online store.
This is a tunneltent and relies entirely on being properly pegged to stay erect but once it's pitched I found it more stable in the wind than any dome. On my own I can have it up in 5 minutes.
The living area is almost the same size as the inner tent and big enough to kneel up in. The tent comfortably sleeps 2 adults and accomodates 2 adults and a small child. The living area sets it apart from any dome tent especially for camping in the UK where the weather is so unpredictable. You could easily cook and spend a few hours in there without feeling uncomfortable!
It's also good for cycling as bikes and luggage can be stored in the front and it only weighs 4.2kg which is a good bit less than similar makes.
Inner tent has a lot of vents; good for summer but if it's cold...

Advantages: Easy to erect, large, simple construction Disadvantages: Heavy to Carry
...The tent that's more like a home away form home
A BIT OF BACKGROUND TO START WITH:
One spring afternoon may other half and I decided to take our first holiday. We booked for 4 days and 3 nights into a hotel in Paris. 4 days and 3 nights later we were back at our respective homes, still talking to one another, still happy together and with no blood spilt, talking about how we really ought to do it again. Now I'm no fan of beachy type holidays, going to bed at 7am and getting up at 5pm, preferring instead to be a bit more down to earth and peaceful, for me a holiday should be about recharging the batteries, seeing some interesting sights and enjoying good food and drink (not grabbing a quick kebab on the way home from a night drinking vodka cocktails although this approach does have a few merits occasionally).
What better way...

Advantages: Lightweight, spacious, well made Disadvantages: fiddly to put up
...tents, which have the advantage of being easier to put up and are very durable and weather resistant.
Without further hesitation we all piled into the MPV and headed off to Sheffield to explore ‘CCC Outdoor Centre’s’ display of tents. They have a wide range of tents set up on the 1st floor ranging from the Khyam self erecting tent to tiny one pole bivvy tents and quite a few in between. We browsed around checking for features that would suit our requirements; we looked at weight, quality of construction and sleeping arrangements. Eventually we settled on the Vango TBS Equinox 600, a hoop or tunnel design 3/4-season tent that sleeps 6 people (in theory). We figured that we might as well stick to Vango as we knew that their tents were reliable and the customer support is also good.
Vango is actually an anagram of Govan, a Scottish...
