Advantages: An easy to use, heavy duty aid to personal fitness and well being
Disadvantages: Initially costly but otherwise none

...for home use. It is not possible to audition them all in your home environment. The gym I attended was equipped with Life Fitness machines, I liked the style and feel. I was used to its graphical display and so I chose that brand. This review is my experience of the specific model. I have been unable to carry out comparative testing. The Life Fitness 4500HR Treadmill This model is amongst the upper range of treadmills and is a heavy weight piece of kit. Alhough this is an American company they do distribute a European model (which affects the read-outs on the display screen) and we bought it via the internet (www.r2bf.com). Advantages: Sturdy, easily folded away.
Disadvantages: Manual incline

...I bought this treadmill from Tesco Direct about two years ago and it is still going strong. It sits beside my desk and folds upwards which is great for keeping it out of the way. It is then easily opened using a key on the side and the main belt drops down to the floor. It has different speeds and also preset programmes which challenge your fitness by speeding up and slowing down at different times. It is very sturdy and has an emergency cut out switch that you can attach to your clothes and a drinks holder. The only thing I miss is the incline which you have to adjust manually when treadmill is off but for the money it is a great treadmill.... Read review

Advantages: Good cardio and classes...
Disadvantages: but the weights area leaves a lot to be desired

...After having been a member of another gym chain for a couple of years I decided it was time for me to try somewhere new and get inspired again. My previous gym was heavily concentrated towards free weights and body builder types although they did hold some classes. It was fun for quite a long time as it gave me a chance to stare unashamedly at all the weird and beautiful people training there but in the end that was not enough to inspire me anymore. I got the final push to try something else when I saw an advertising board stating that for a limited time only you could join Fitness First without paying the joining fee of £100. As I refuse to pay a fee for the honour of paying out regular money this sounded good to me and I went to have a look.
