I bought this repellent prior to an expedition to Venezuela and my opinions about it are mixed. The manufacturer claims that one application will last approximately 8 hours, but most environments where repellent is necessary it is very hot and therefore sweating reduces the effective 'repelling time' of the spray. However the main problem i encountered was the harshness of the spray, it can really sting your skin and if you have sensitive skin i strongly recommend you to avoid this. Another problem is eyes and nose, if it gets near any of these, it can be very problematic as one of my friends discovered (it can damage your lungs). An example of how strong this spary is: it melted my plastic pen, and as a word of warning it can do that to garments to. With all its disadvantages it does have its up sides: the small bottle of 100ml lasts for ages (in excess of a month), and it really does deter most mosquitoes. However it fails to protect you against the dreaded piri piri fly and anyone who has been unfortunate enough to experience these flyes will tell you that they are far worse than mosquitoes.When buying the spray i think you will do well to find it for less than £7.00 and if so i would treat it with caution.
