Changing the battery is a simple process the back twists off and pulls out allowing you to remove the old battery, and replace it with the new one, and in the replacement pack you get a new back to fit in to the watch which is a nice touch as removing the old one can damage it slightly as it is quite a soft plastic, the replacement battery kits cost from around £12. My only real disappointment with the Mosquito is that the pc interface connection is slightly fragile, it has to be connected and the held at a certain angle to stop the watch dropping off the connection which can make transferring the data quite a fiddly operation, especially if you happen to be on a diveboat when the sea is choppy (theres always going to be a day like that ...

Review of Suunto Mosquito

Suunto Mosquito diving wrist diving computer

Advantages: very easy to read underwater
Disadvantages: battery life not very good

Very easy to use wrist diving computer. The information provided is clear and the digits are large enough to read underwater. Information provided when diving is depth, time, no decompression time, water temperature, ascent rate, safety stop and nitrox mix. As a scuba diving instructor I have had 3 Mosquito's and always found them to be reliable, even after many hours of diving. As the computer is on all the time it can be used as a watch, the bracelet is black rubber and the facing comes in different colours. An additional extra is the face protector which I would recommend to avoid scratching the glass. Down side is that the battery life is only around 6 months, but the battery change is not too expensive to replace. It is always recommended that you have the battery changed by a Suunto dealer who will also provide a limited ...

Panic at Hanging Rock

Advantages: mesmerising, page turner
Disadvantages: stilted language in parts

My fascination with this book started some time ago. Set in Australia, I had no idea of the background to the story until a few years ago when my friend and I went to Mount Macedon one night. While making our way steeply down in the car from the mountain in the pitch black, we came across a silhouette standing at the side of the road. I don't know who was more scared - the kangaroo or us. Mack let out a girlie high pitched scream. The reason for this was that my friend had just decided to tell me the tale of what had allegedly happened at Hanging Rock. I think I was a little bit spooked. When I went to Melbourne in March this year, we were again heading for Mount Macedon and took a wrong turn. And guess where we ended up?
