Advantages: cost, easy to put up, replaceable poles Disadvantages: outer rips easily, groundsheet wears easily
...This 3 man tent was bought for wild camping expeditions in lowland areas. I had hoped it would withstand being put up and down by enthusiastic teenagers! It can be purchased from Millets for a cost of £49.99. It weighs 4.9 Kg and has a hydrostatic head of 2000mm (most start from about 1500mm). It comes in a good size carry bag (20cm x66cm) with great handles. The guy ropes are bright fluorescent yellow so not easy to trip over.
Ease of use:
The tent is really straight forward to put up and took 2 people about 10 minutes. There are 3 poles which are colour coded so that the right pole goes in the right place. It’s a bit fiddly to attach the inner area to the outer sheet and this took the most time. The poles split for folding and go through the loop areas really easily.
Durability:

Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance. Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).
...Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. Last summer Salomon decided to sell off all of there sample models of the ST80 so now these samples are available.
Since these are sample skates they were only ever made in one size (uk 8.5) so if this size is too large or too small for you then forget about buying these skates as riding wrongly sized skates can be detrimental to the health of your feet.
Out of the box these skates look amazing. The cool blue-grey colour used for the boot is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing of on any of the recent Salomon skates. This is highlighted by the white frame which gives the skates a very clean, stylish appearance.
These skates...

Advantages: Comfortable, plush ride, sensible gearing Disadvantages: Price, low spec group set
...Girlfriend was getting back ache after riding a small version of a male bike, so i bought her one for her birthday...no more back ache.
Specific for ladies in the way that,
1. Small brake leavers
2. Larger saddle
3. Shorter top tube
4. Softer suspension fork
Ther are probably loads more changes compared to the normal 4900, but these are the obvious ones. As a package though it works well, and is pretty comfortable to ride. Plush forks (low stiction), sensible gearing and a nice ladies saddle to protect the soft bits!
You pay a premium though for such attention to detail. Yes you pay the same as the male version, but you get downgraded gears, cassette, hubs and chainrings. Bit tight if you ask me, are the ladies being taken advantage of in the way that they might not know the difference between the Deore and LX range? NIce...
