Advantages: Two colours, easy to apply Disadvantages: Melts in heat
...Effol Hoof Ointment strengthens the hooves and encourages healthy hoof growth. The hooves are strengthened and supported in their natural development. Effol Hoof Ointment makes the hooves more elastic thus protecting them against cracks even under extreme conditions.
I have used Effol for years on all my horses young and old. Im not one that uses this everyday as it will just eventually ruin their hooves as they need moisture from the ground and air but occasionally a little something is needed especially in the summer season.
Effoil ointment can come in two colour black or green and in two sizes large or small!

Advantages: It really works! Disadvantages: The Price!

Advantages: Looks nice, may enhance condition. Disadvantages: May not enhance condition.

Some people like to paint under the hoof aswell, covering the whole hoof as well as the frog. The frog isn`t a green hopping creature, it is a V shaped soft piece flesh slightly raised from the sole, which is intended as a shock absorber...
