...Rohan, not a name synonymous with high street fashion, but if like me, you travel, hike, mountain bike or whatever else in the great outdoors, you may have heard of this brand of specialist clothing. And if you have not, then you may be surprised by what you read.
WHAT THEY DO
Rohan produce a range of outdoor clothing. Not your G suits or thermal artic exploration stuff, but lightweight high quality clothes, ideal for the seasoned traveller, in any climate and activity.
HISTORY
The company was formed in 1975. There vision to change the way clothes designed for travel and leisure. They adopted a back to basic philosophy, with the design and fabrics used. They also talked to their potential customers. With all this in mind Rohan set out to be the leading brand in performance clothing.

...sideways when changed and basically dropping onto the next sprocket, however, when first using this system it takes a while to get used to, I changed gear on a slight hill and found myself going nowhere. The auto shifting or jumping were a major problem for me on my early jaunts, causing me to stick to one trusted gear for the whole journey. Instead of randomly bashing the gears indiscriminately I learned that it’s best to experiment on a very slight hill (downhill) so that if you jump you have the momentum to adjust accordingly instead of coming to a standstill. Once I had the confidence to use the gears correctly there is no slicker way to travel.
Now the tables have been turned, the bike is proudly stationed at my house with my brother only occasionally taking it for a spin. I use this bike exclusively, not for leisure purposes...

Advantages: cheap, beautiful countryside Disadvantages: groups are too large (although I did go on Bank holiday)
...the yard that galloping would be a much quicker way of getting home. I assured him that the centre was approved by leading equine safety organizations and so off we went on the Saturday of the last Bank Holiday weekend. Three friends of ours had joined us on a well needed long weekend escapade from stressful London.
We were a group of five; 3 experienced riders, 2 novices, but we were joined by a large group of touring South Africans, all trying riding for the first or second time. Maryanne and Sian were our ‘tour leaders and sorted out riding hats for those without, then a brief instruction was given to the beginners on the very basics of getting on and holding the reins etc, before we were matched up with our mounts for the day.
