I have been a member of livingwell for approx 9 month now and I can't wait for my membership to expire so I can go to greens or virgin its that bad.
Where to start??????
Well The whole gym is very very dirty. The carpets have deep sweat and damp marks and the carpet leading to the gym area is very worn like most things in the place.
The equipment rarely gets cleaned and is old, dated and some rusty.
The towels provided for members are usually frayed around the edges and stained as they use them to clean the sinks in the toilets and use them (attached to a sweeping brush) to clean the sweaty floors in the studios and as sweat towels in the spinning classes. I have seen this happen frequently. The male changing rooms are filthy, the toilet walls are always dirty and the bottom of the doors are rotted. The ceilings are dirty and in the shower area they are falling in due to damp and rot. The tiles on the floor have ingrained dirt some cracked and there are gaps where grout should be in the shower area. The shower area on a lot of occasions smell like really bad toilet drains.
The pool area is not bad at all apart from the mould growing on the walls in the showers. The blue hygiene shoe covers that the staff wear to cover their shoes on the poolside are reversible and get reused witch I think is a health and safety issue.
The management don't seem to know what they are doing, opening hours of the gym were changed without informing any members. When there are perks of being a member like members parties you are informed by a letter that arrived the same day as the event, this is no good as most people need notice to arrange things.
There are perks to livingwell, discount on drinks in the Hilton and free breakfast for members. The staff seem friendly but once you are signed up you don't get the warmth from the initial show round meeting. The beauticians from the sensory are absolutely lovely very friendly, a lot more than the actual livingwell staff.
The cost of this gym for full rate is quite expensive and not worth the money in my opinion.

I was a member of their Glasgow branch for a long time. THankfully my company paid the fees.

Why do so many gyms seem to think it's okay not to clean very often? It's so off putting to do your press ups only to see a great hair and dust ball flying towards your face...
