The KEO Carbon is Look's new generation of clipless pedal. The pedal body is carbon injection moulded to make it lightweight and extremely durable it also has a low profile, so your foot is closer to the axle helping to give a direct feel to the ride. The axle, covered with a lifetime warranty, has been redesigned making it lighter and stronger. There are three bearings within the pedal to give a super smooth revolution. Not only has the pedal been redesigned but also the cleat. Looking similar to a standard cleat it has been reduced in size and features bi material, which decreases the friction when engaging and releasing. Total weight of each pedal is 115g for Chromoly axles.
Advantages: Grippy, tough, long-lasting, good spares backup Disadvantages: Poor paint, watch those pins, needs flat soled shoes
...about this pedal, is that DMR produce a comprehensive set of spares. If it gets damaged, or worn then it can be repaired rather than having to throw it away and buy a new one. A new axle for instance costs a mere £3.99.
V8 versus V12
DMR also produce a more expensive version of this pedal - the V12. For nearly twice the price you get cartridge bearings, better sealing and chrome plating on the axle. The pedalbody is identical for both models. Personally speaking, I'm not convinced that having cartridge bearings and a chromeaxle is worth the extra £18, especially seeing as the V12 and V8 come out neck and neck in reviews.
The downers?
Paint. DMR are famous for having paint that flakes off easily, and the V8's are no exception. I had visible paint rub on a brand new set of DMR's on the very first ride. The fact...

This BMX, I believe was originally sold for £199, however I bought it off ebay for £99 and it was barely used and a great bargin.
I have not changed any of my spec on this bike, as soon I intend to sell it so I can build my own flantland bike.
So you know how this bike runs, you have to understand that I am short, very short, and 7 stone in weight, so of course I find this BMX very heavy, but overall, it is a heavy bike anyway and can be quite hard to push to get the speed for jumps etc.
I have had this now, for comming up to my...

..."Oh look! Someone's stolen your pedal!"
At first glance it can certainly look that way when you see the quirky Crank Brothers Eggbeaters on a bike. These are minimal in the extreme, and look unlikely to be able to operate in the intended manner. But operate they do, and pretty well too.
Eggbeaters take their name from the shape which, clearly, makes them look like they're ready to whisk up an omelette. They are a type of 'clipless' pedal (quick precis, there are basically three types of pedal: normal 'flat' style; flats with 'clips' - the little straps that go over your foot to attach you; and clipless, which attach you to the pedal by a variety of methods, culminating in a cleat on the sole of your shoe).
These pedals are aimed at the mountain bike market, though can be used on a daily road bike (as I do) thanks to their simple...
