New for 2007, the MD Golf Superstrong EQL Fairway Wood (Graphite); featuring MD Golf\'s unique Tungsten Draw System. The MD Golf Superstrong EQL Fairway Woods are part of MD Golf's Superstrong EQL range of titanium golf woods, which all feature the Tungsten Draw System. A Tungsten weight is located in the heel of the club which makes it easier to square the club at impact, thereby helping to reduce a slice. Meanwhile, a shallower club face and a more compact head shape make this the ideal fairway wood from the tee or from a tight fairway lie. This classic pear shaped EQL fairway wood is also fitted with Grafalloy Blue ProLaunch shafts, exclusively designed and matched to the head to provide optimum performance. Today\'s Golfer (January 2007)\'\'Very few clubs performed really well all over the course. Some shone off the tee, others out of the rough. But the EQL saw us digging balls out of the long grass as often
Advantages: Large "Sweet Zone", Accurate and Long. Disadvantages: Superceded by the LD and Speed models.
...in the market for "long game" clubs with much success with both drivers and fairwaywoods in recent years. Their clubs are generally forgiving and long and this SZ range (Sweet Zone) is more of the same. However, these clubs are no longer the most recent on the market having being released a couple of years ago now. Even though they have been replaced by new lines of clubs they remain as a great, modern example of golf technology and the fact that they have been superseded by newer models only serves to lower their price!! The clubs are now available for £60/£70 from golf stores and even less on eBay having previously had an RRP of over £100.
As well as looking good behind the ball the SZ fairwaywoods have a great level of technology on their side too. As standard they are fitted with a high-spec Cobra/Aldila shaft, a Cobra Tour Velvet grip...

Advantages: Low price, powerful and nice design Disadvantages: Not suitable for high handicaps due to small head size
...The Mizuno MP-001 series of fairwaywoods are available in a wide range of lofts, with a variety of shaft flexes. Due to being released a few years ago, they are now extremely good value and can be picked up for around £50/£70 (steel/graphite) new and prices are coming down all the time. They are very good looking with a sleek design and look good over the ball. With a simple arrow alignment aid and a compact head these are better suited for the better-player who can guarentee a good strike. Even so, they are very forgiving compared to other low-handicapper woods and hit the ball a long way. In my opinion they are just as good as any other club out and are un-matched for value. For any decent golfer these are a good adition to the golf bag, and the 7-wood in particular is a lovely golf club. If you like to shape the ball it is also easy...

Advantages: Challenging but accessible course for mid handicappers Disadvantages: Not hard enough for better players and not the best course in the area
...Chelsfield Lakes Golf Club
'A good walk spoiled' is how one man once described golf but he was obviously a fool as there are few better ways to pass the time than by playing this most majestic of sports. In my part of the world we are spoilt for choice when it comes to courses and there are ones to suit all standards and pockets.
Chelsfield Lakes is a pleasant pay and play course that will satisfy most golfers from beginners to good players. Very low handicappers may not find it enough of a challenge but for us mere mortals it has more than enough to keep us interested without ruining our confidence.
The lakes of the title is bit misleading as there are only two on the course. One is far to the left of the 16th and doesn't come into play but the other is large and runs between the 9th and 18th fairways and most definitely comes...
