Advantages: Perfect for sporting or casual use. Disadvantages: None
...My guess is that 75% of the world's cyclists have never really paid much attention to their pedals.
So long as they spin round, push the crankset in the right direction, and give you somewhere to rest your feet, they are of little interest.
Remember your first bike? Maybe you do, but you could probably not tell me what the pedals were made of, what weight they were, how much they cost, what cleat system they used, or how easy they were to service.!!
However, as bikes have become more complicated, and folk have more money to spend on personalizing them, the pedals have attracted more attention.
Here is a good example - the Shimano A530 SPD's.

Advantages: Very well priced entry to SPD pedalling. Disadvantages: Cumbersome, heavy and insensitive for road bking.

( there should be enough fodder there for some good puns in your comments! ).
The pictures supplied by the manufacturers illustrate perfectly the thick rubber soles with treads that would delight anyone who regularly climbs through their local sheughs.
These are also highly useful for those young males who like to leave very noticeable footprints wherever they go - e.g. kitchen floors. But they are hardly the stuff of honed athletes racing at high speed on carbon bikes on the Tour de France!
3 For people who like to be the centre of attention in their local gym.

These were bought for me to enjoy more fully, my weekly spin class at David Lloyd's. That was the role specified to the supplier, and they were his recommendation.
I could not be more noticeable if I arrived in a pair...

Advantages: great value and functionality Disadvantages: might fall off once or twice whilst learning!
...The Shimano M535 pedals are my pedal of choice these days, I’ve used other pedals and even other manufacturers but I have found that for value for money and ease of use these cannot be beaten.
At first, using clipless pedals can be daunting but its not really an option when riding cross country as the added power and control are more than worth the effort of overcoming the fear and the odd bumps and bruises that you might get during the learning process.
Obviously using these pedals you also need to have shoes which are compatible, mind are the top of the range Shimano units (which I would highly recommend) at a cost of around £120 but these are by no means the only option as compatible shoes can be picked up for as little as £20 to £30.
Back to the pedals, they’re reasonably light, easy to maintain, set up and use and even manage...

The JBL on tour speakers are average, at the most. For their high cost, you wouldn't expect some of the severe design flaws present in it. The audio quality is relatively good considering it's size, and the maximum volume is very high, albeit containing... more
NFL Tour is a good game in that it features great gameplay and a twist on Madden.
