Advantages: Light and strong Disadvantages: not cheap
...camping is one from the MagLite range of torches the model being the MagLite 2-C Cell Flashlight, I chose this because it is not too big and heavy (that is counter productive when space and weight are at a premium), also for me I want a torch that can give out a good light (this used to be very important when making my way back to the tent after a couple of beers in the nearest pub).
Why this torch?
I have used many different torches over the years ... ...one way or another, briefly;
Hard Plastic - too brittle, it is easily cracked and normally they tend to have only one static beam.
Rubber - More robust, but the metal parts are prone to corrosion making it difficult to change the batteries, the on off buttons tend to not work very well over the passage of time and it can be very fiddly when it comes to changing the bulb.
Cheap metal torches - On more than one I have found sharp edges, generally ...

Advantages: robust, strong, metal Disadvantages: heavy, big, bulbs need replacing
I was given this torch last year and i must admit that it has come in very useful. It is very bright, more so than my pretzl tikka headtorch, but not as bright as a gas powered lantern. I think the size of this torch (27cm long and nearly half a kilogram in weight) means that it is rather cumbersome to carry on a hiking trip and although some headtorches are less bright they are much lighter, smaller and as an extra attraction they can be fitted ... ...also big and heavy and not as cheap as other batteries (2 or 3 pounds more). In terms of battery life i found that after 4 to 6 hours of use the batteries really start to drain and the brightness of the torch falls dramatically. The outside of the torch is, however, very practical and the hard outer metal casing withstands any drops and smashes. The bulb is another disadvantage, i feel, as unlike LEDs it needs replacing every so often (usually after ...

I would like to share my experiences of what I now lovingly call my best friend. Firstly I will admit that I am slightly biased towards the Sony brand. Having purchased their products in the past, I have found them not to be particularly competitive with more
I have owned this vacuum cleaner for a few years now and have found it to be excellent overall.
It picks up everything, although doesn't give that "groomed" look to carpets that many cleaners do. This leaves you feeling that it hasn't cleaned as well more
