Advantages: convenient size, good brightness, extremely durable, water & shock resistant Disadvantages: more expensive than comparable inferior models
...Most people who know me well are aware of my obsession with torches and flasks. There’s probably some deep and meaningful psychological reason for this but what causes it I don’t know. The results are an incapability to walk past a display without browsing, which frequently ends up with me buying. There is no doubt that in the event of an electrical failure I cold illuminate my street and keep its residents supplied with hot drinks!
I have a lot of torches including little key ring ones, credit card style, forehead lamps to he more standard, traditional torch. I’ve got wind up, rechargeable, kinetically charged and battery powered ones and from this choice I’ve selected the MagLite Solitaire Key Ring Flashlight. MagLite are one of my favourite brands as they are so well made, so nicely presented ad somehow so sexy- yeah I know...

Advantages: Light and strong Disadvantages: not cheap
...One part of either a backpacking or cycling camping trip is that at night it gets dark and if you’re away from city lights it can get incredibly dark. Some say it can be romantic, the dark night with stars shimmering away, the stars that you never really see in built up areas. But it also means you cannot see where you are going. Camp sites can be full of trip hazards (guy lines from tents for example) so a reliable torch is a must.
So what torch do I use?
My preferred torch for camping is one from the MagLite range of torches the model being the MagLite 2-CCellFlashlight, I chose this because it is not too big and heavy (that is counter productive when space and weight are at a premium), also for me I want a torch that can give out a good light (this used to be very important when making my way back to the tent after a couple...

Advantages: Very bright, adjustable beam focus, spare bulb, heavy and robust Disadvantages: none
...I rate this as excellent as because it it very practical, looks great and has a very powerful beam.
The whole body is made of metal and when stuffed with 4 Dcell batteries, it weighs quite a bit, which I kind of like. Security guards use these types of torches not only because they are great to see into dark places, but also because they double up as handy battons. Not that I would advocate their use as a weapon, but if you had to defend yourself, I'd rather be holding this torch than any other.
I've found battery life to be pretty good. Haven't really counted the hours but with occasional use I haven't changed the batteries in over a year. As with most/all maglites, you get a spare bulb tucked into the end cap which is a good idea. Although I haven't had to use that yet in over 5 years.
The end of the torch twists to enable...

Besides the fact that this board used a good combination of the LGA-775 socket and the P35 chipset, the reason I purchased it to puy into my new computer was because it has DDR3 support. This makes the board slightly more future-proof as DDR3 prices and... more
