It fits nicely in to mym top pocket, and ... ...and lasts long on batteries. Maglite appear to make their products a little on the tougher side, and so you know that although you had to pay out a fair amount initially you can be safe in the knowledge that you won't have to do so again - unless, of course you lose it.

It fits nicely in to mym top pocket, and is extremely light weight - so much so, that you don't even realise that it is there half the time.
I bought this one for £10.99 from my local hardware store, but as I used to work there many moons ago and still know a lot of the staff there they gave it to me at this price as opposed to the £12.49 that it would have cost me in the first place. In my own opinion, this price is a little too steep for something so small but it is one of the cheaper prices that they have out of all of the shops in Plymouth.
But with that said however, I do feel that you get what pay for as it is a long lasting product that is very durable and lasts long on batteries. Maglite appear to make their products a little on the tougher side, and so you know that although you had to pay out a fair amount initially you can be safe in the knowledge that you won't have to do so again - unless, of course you lose it.
To turn it on, you have to twist the end of the torch that has the light bulb on - some torches you have to press the other end just like on my old one, so I found it hard to get used to doing it another way!
As already pointed out, I got mine in a local hardware shop. But I have also seen tem in a whole host of other places aswell, from department stores and markets stalls to camping shops (obviously). Prices will vary from place to place, so take a bit of time out in order to get what is best for you.
Advantages: Great Beam, Long lasting, and durable. Disadvantages: Slightly on the heavy side due to batteries.
I have had this torch for some while now and a havn't had any probelems with it. It is still on its origional bulb which came with the torch. It comes with a spare bulb wich is hidden under the spring in the tail cap which i still havn't used. It takes 3xD cells which are the big round batteries. This torch is big and durable. It feels very well made and has a soft button to turn it on and off with. It has a good solid on/off feel so you know its ... ...is embedded in the metal on the torch. Its great value for money as it has lasted me a while and on the same bulb which is good. The beam on it in the dark is very good. You can see far ahead of you when going for those late night strolls. ...

I saw a maglite torch with a friend who had come to my farm. I knew that I had to have one of my own. I bought the 3D in Pune and am very happy and satisfied with its performance.. Maglite have been known for a long time now for their reliability and build quality. I personally think this is mainly due to good marketing. Yes, their products are good, but let me explain why there are better options.
I purchased one of these 3D cell torches. It cost me just under £20. The torch feels solid and is well made. It does what a torch is meant to do and produces a nice bright beam. The batteries last OK, but being D sized cells, they do cost a bit to replace. Rechargeables are an option, but for torch use are not that great. There are no other features on offer here. Plus, it is not particularly waterproof. Showerproof yes, but heavy rain will not do it any good.
In comparison, I purchased a Fenix torch, that runs from two AA cells. It cost me £35 and is a lot more compact. It is waterproof too. The light beam can be ...
