Thank you very much for all the reads and rates and comments and things! :) Also started to write on Dooyoo under the name of 'Beanie85'. Trying to write different reviews for each site, though I might have a couple on both sites!

I bought my maglite a couple of years ago. Since I do quite a lot of camping and going to music festivals, I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a good torch to see me through my camping adventures!
The maglite comes in a black plastic protective case. The case is rectangular in shape, it is about 17cm in length and 10cm in breadth and probably about 3cm thick. It has 'Mini Maglite' written across the front of it. This opens up to reveal a short furry grey haired plastic covered inner, which has two storage compartments in it. One where the batteries go, there is space for two
AA batteries here, which means that if you have two in your torch, then you can have extras to carry around with you that you won't lose in the bottom of your bag! The next storage compartment, directly underneath the one for the batteries is where the torch stays. The torch fits snugly into the hole so it won't be moving around and getting damaged if you are transporting it.
The maglites come in a range of different colours. This especially appealed to me when getting a maglite, you can get one which is a bit more personal since you can choose to get one if your favourite colour! I have one in a metallic pink colour. There are ones in pink, red, blue, purple, black, silver, green and camouflage (lots of choice)
The torch comes with a 10 year warrantee which covers defects in parts and workmanship.
The instructions that come with the maglite are detailed and easy to follow and tell you everything you need to know (though really putting batteries in a torch and turning it on doesn't require too much reading!) The warrantee is also included in the instructions.
The maglite is not too heavy, being made of aluminium, and is easy to carry around therefore making it a great camping accessory.
The bottom of the maglite screws open so that you can put the batteries in. The torch takes two AA batteries. The batteries are easy to apply/remove, they simply slip in and out so they don't get stuck in there so you have to pull them out (I used to have another torch where it was an absolute pain to try to replace batteries) I have only changed the batteries once in the two years of having this torch, and I have used it quite often, so I think that it is quite energy efficient and you will get lots of hours of use for each set of batteries you use.
To adjust the strength of the light, you can simply twist the top of the maglite. This changes the beam from spotlight to floodlight. The torch gives a good strong beam. When it is dark you can see a really wide range infront of you.
It is possible to buy replacement bulbs for the maglites if the bulb goes, but I have been using mine regularly for two years and have not had to change the bulb yet. The replacement bulbs cost around £4 for two.
The other great thing about this torch is that it is waterproof and shock proof. This is great for me being quite clumsy and having a bit of a tendency to drop things, and it is great to use if it is particularly wet. You can have piece of mind that you will not be damaging your torch if you drop it/get it wet. Having said that though, I have not completely emerged my torch in water (nor do I particularly want to try it!) but I have used it in really heavy rain with no problems what-so-ever.
The torch fits really nicely into your hand and it has it has a little criss-cross section around the middle of it where you hold it, to give you a better grip of it. The torch is 15cm in length. This might seem quite small but this was also another thing that appealed to me since it was quite small it could be easily stored away. It may be small but it's a powerful little torch, which I absolutely love!
Maglites are available from most camping stores and they are also widely available online A maglite like this one costs around £15 each from camping stores, however they are available on Amazon for £9.44 right now, which is really great value.
I am so glad I bought this torch and it has been a real bright light and a trusty camping companion. I really cannot fault it. Its waterproof, light weight, looks really fancy and is an essential part of my kit. I know what it will last me for years to come. Two thumbs up!
