Advantages: Distance and spin are exceptional! Disadvantages: a little bit pricey to lose!
...This is one of the best balls out there especially for the lower handicap player who requires that little bit extra distance as well as the 'stop and drop' ability around the greens. I used to use the Titleist Pro V1 before switching to this as it was awesome around the greens but i moved to the ProV1X because it is slightly harder, thus reducing the amount of spin on the ball and giving me around 10 yards more distance and by keeping my ball around 5 yards straighter.
I hit the ball pretty hard and I think this is one of the reasons why the ProV1X suits my game. I also have a pretty tidy short game and I find that harder balls run about 5-10 feet past the hole instead of getting the amount of check spin I get with these.
Even though it is aimed at the more advanced level the only reason I suggest it for the low hanicapper...

Advantages: Great name in golf balls Disadvantages: Not really for high handicappers
...I'm not really into the science of golf balls, all I know is that there are good balls and not so good balls. I wouldn't play with golf balls that cost 20p per ball such as Donnay because they don't feel nice to hit and yes on the golf course you just don't use Donnay to play low rounds and in tourneys.
I tried a titleist Pro V1X today in a Stableford tourney off white tees so I had a little extra yardage to play, I mostly use Titleist PTS Solo because they are designed for mid to high handicappers, and I can hit them, so they work for me. Titleist have brought out this new breed of ball, and as i said I don't know the science so i'm not going to say there is this and there is that, etc. All i know is that these balls are designed to cut out spin, have a lower flight and create more distance, however, I never saw any of that. To me...

Advantages: Good in all weathers Disadvantages: None of such
...Many players overlook the importance of grips on their golf clubs. Although the thickness of the grip can be tailored from any brand, the quality of the grip varies imensely. The Softie Cord has all the advantages of a cord grip, such as long being lasting yet with a 'soft' feel. For those players who usually go for a regular cord grip, the 'softie' version is a good step up and can be used in all weathers, unlike some cheaper versions. The feel is good and the price is competitive. I would recommend that players change their grips regularly, and for those who appreciate quality, the "Golf Pride Players Softie Cord" could be perfect. Always try before buying, but regripping my entire golf clubs with these grips (I play off 7) has made me feel more confident and improved my scores. The grip is relatively expensive compared to competitiors...
