...As I feel the cold quite often when I'm diving I decided to invest in a cyberskin as I had read good reports about it in various dive magazines. I wasn't keen on buying a semi-dry to take abroad with me as I feel they can be cumbersome. I usually wear a 5mm Gul Steamer but felt I needed some extra insulation.
The cyberskin is 0.5mm thick and extremely light. The material is silky and flexible and feels extremely comfortable. It comes in women's and men's sizes from small through to XXL and is £65. Although it is only 0.5mm thick it is equal in warmth to a 2mm wetsuit and can be used alone for diving in warmer waters. I bought an all in one with a back zipper but it is possible to purchase it as a separate top and bottoms. We never risk cooking too close to the tent, even though its fire retardant, stray embers can leave a small hole big enough for water to enter.
The weight (or rather lack of it) means this tent enables you to take with you more luxurious items that you would otherwise have to leave behind. Its stored size is 8” x 20” and it can attach to the bottom of your backpack. You can if you choose divide it between the 2 of you; one taking the fabrics and the other the poles and stakes if you prefer.
It was quite a lot of money but to us it was worth it, if you only camp on an organised site near your car I certainly wouldn’t recommend this tent for you. Beautiful classic Praktica photos - by that i mean realistic, not enhanced colours that i had found in my previous (still own 3.2 mega pixel) Sony Cybershot.
Don't get me wrong i was more than happy with Sony's digital representation of the world... more
