Once again, the powers that be have had their way over the true fans. Manchester United in blue - it is just not on.
The kit itself is very nice, slick looking and extremely fashionable. A royal blue colour with red trim, and white logos makes for a very attractive shirt. The only problem - it is just not Man U!
The vodafone logo (update: now replaced by AIG) is in white across the centre of the shirt, with a white nike tick in the breast, and the club logo in a central position on the breastbone.
The shorts are in the same colour, baggy, with the red trim on the seam at the base, and the socks being nikes current half and half with blue fronts and red on the back.
As I say, the kit is lovely, once again expensive at £40 for an adult shirt, but somehow is just not a Man U shirt in feel or appearance.
The shirt is comfortable to wear, feels very light, and is comfortable around the neck.
Once again though, this is a victory for the people in the boardroom over the true fans. A fashion statement to make money rather than what the fans would truly like and want.
