York 6Ft Spinlock Bar is a good product. Spinlock Bar is chrome plated. It is made up of solid steel construction. It come with spinlock collars for quick plate changes. It is for added safety. This sturdy piece of equipment and ideal for weight lifting. It has alimit of 150 Kg. Its total weight is 7Kg.It is very nice & comfortable to use. Its collars make it safe and holds weights nicely. You have to take care that the collars are neatly teighten other wise weights may fall and one get injured. It gives you nice grip to hold the bar. after using it I feel it is worth to buy it.You can use this bar for your arm and shoulder but also for your back . Review of York 6Ft Spinlock Bar

A Metal Rod with 100 uses!

Advantages: Lots of other uses, Holds a large amount of weight for its size
Disadvantages: Expensive for a metal rod. Requires alot of other components

I bought the York 5ft Bar from a sports store at home, about a year ago after I had a huge sudden desire to start working out, and it sort of worked, just not quite as well as I planned, but my small failure is not the point of this review! =) Specifications The bar is 5ft (152cm) long, and weighs just about 7kg including the 2 spinlocks (you need to know that because no site EVER tells you). It has a 125kg Max limit, and is a made of steel with a chrome skin. The length of the bar on which you are able to fit weights is around 8 ? 10 inches (no site tells you this either!). The diameter of the bar is 1 inch (nor this), so don?t go buying the Olympic 2inch lumen weights! Review of York Spinlock Bar

York 50kg Barbell and Dumbell Set

Advantages: Reliable, easy to use
Disadvantages: Spinlock safety locks not very secure if not tightened properly

I purchased this about a year ago and was pretty impressed with it. With the set you get a 7kg barbell bar with 2 spinlock safety locks, 2 dumbell bars with 4 spinlock safety locks and plates that go up as: 4 x 5kg, 4 x 2.5kg, 4 x 1.25 and 4 x 0.5kg. The barbell and the dumbells have good grip sections on them however form blisters on your hands if used a lot, therefore I would suggest purchasing some good quality York weightlifting gloves to prevent this. The spinlock safety locks are good if you tighten them really tight, however they easily gradually unspin if you do not tighten them enough. Also in my opinion the weight of the plates could be in higher weight value, like 4 x 7.5kg just so that people who like to add extra weight can do as it is difficult to get many more than 2 plates on each side especially on the dumbells.
