...on your joints. I recommend that you stretch well before exercising so you don't pull any muscles when on the machine. There is variable magnetic resistance, controlled by a knob in front of you. It goes all the way upto 8, but I'm not yet seeing the day that I'll get above 3! There is a large display computer that you can set as a countdown timer, or to simply time you for as long as you want, you are told your speed, distance (which can also be used as a timer/target if you want to run X number of kilometres), there is a calorie counter and a heart rate monitor with a clip to attach to your ears. This model doesn't have the fancy hand-grip mounted pulse sensors of newer or more expensive models. Advantages: MAKES YOU A FIT AND HEALTHY PERSON
Disadvantages: absolutely none.. a tad bit costly but worth it!

...every day for one week and the most noticeable difference was that of my legs and buttox! Both were very much more toned and very noticeably so, I was amazed that it happened so quickly! ---TIPS AND ADVICE:--- You don't particularly need to wear shoes as it has a grip surface on the pedals but it would probably be more hygeinic if you do! Have an antibcterial spray handy or wipes to wipe down the handles once you have used it, just to make it more pleasant to use for the next person! You can buy a Polar Heart Belt separately to feed your heart rate to the machine! It picks it up through magnetism. You should be careful (although I don't think that you should use the machine) in the presence of small children as whe someone is using it, the pedals could hit the child and cause injury! Advantages: Great fat burning exerciser. Automatic magnetic resistence.
Disadvantages: Poor quality.

...to assemble. It took me 20 minutes but did it by myself (hero). The instructions are basic but most of the assembling is straight forward. Computer ************ The exerciser has an onboard computer powered by an adapter (supplied)that displays time, speed, distance, age, heart rate and calorie burn. You can use 7 pre-set programes that automatically change the magnetic resistance at pre-determined intervals to make it harder or easier as you go through the exercise program. 4 user programs allow you to create a self designed exercise workout.
