...Been commuting with the 700x28c(622-28) Marathon plus tyre 4 months/2000km flatless on my city-bike. Every other trip I spot glass and the likes somewhere on my route, but I dont mind very much if I cant avoid running over it. Actually I've been running over large pieces of glass quite a few times while feeling it shatter under me even more, and without a worry in my mind.
As for wear, the front tyre actually still has the thin rubber grate visible all round the tyre on the main contact thread; the one you only see on all-new tyres. On the back tyre, this grate is all gone but no visible thread wear so far.
I expect 5000+ km from these tyres before replacement. And that is the back tyre. Then when times comes, it is just a matter of replacing the rear wheel tyre with the old (but not so worn) front wheel tyre and then mounting all...

...Ok, so i have been using these forks on my custom DMR sidekick for about half a year now and have decided to write a review because i am very impressed with the performance.
These Dirt Jumper forks are heavy, there is no doubt about that. But there is so much reason for them to be heavy and it is no great sacrafise. The DJ (DirtJumper) is one of the first true Dirtjumping forks designed to actually take some real abuse. The stantions are steel, no more lightweight flimsy alluminum, this creates stronger stantions so that less Marzocchi DJ forks get them broken. The steerertube remains steel like it always has been but the steerer tube is reinforced for roughly the bottom 3-4 inches with a thick steel insert, this makes for less, or no Marzocchi DJ forks having the steerertube snap, which as you may know, can be deadly.
