Please bear in mind that since these are sold as out and out racing tyres that is exactly how I review them, if you want to ride to work every day in the wet or ride round the world and get 10000 miles out of a pair then look elsewhere!

The tyres come in several different colour versions and 20,23 & 25mm widths. (The 25mm are hard to come by) The different colours all having one compound in the center of the tyre for less rolling resistance and another on the edges that is softer for better cornering. I ride the 23mm width for training & racing and find them perfectly comfortable. They have a fairly low maximun PSI of 110, being on the low side probably adds to the comfort factor but check the pressure regulary so you don't run them too low. Being that I'm 6'1" tall and weigh 175 pounds you'll only need the 25mm tyres for Paris-Roubaix style riding.

Just so you know, I use the black & dark grey flavour, in theory they are all the same but you never know. Once you've lent into a fast corner on these tyres you'll wonder how you ever managed to ride a road bike without them fitted. Being light they spin up to speed very fast and once rolling seem to want to go on forever.
It has to be mentioned that these are rather a tight fit on most rims. Have a good set of tyre levers ready, and try not to pinch the innertube. The flipside of their tight fit is of course they are far less likely to blowoff the rim than other tyres.

As far as durability is concerned the tyres completly smooth surface does seem to show up the odd nick from time to time but this doesn't seem to hamper the performance. I'm sure that this happens to tyres with tread as well it is just more noticable on this design. Both myself and a colleague have been using these tyres for several years and have never had a puncture. In fact he has changed his TT bike to 20mm Axial Pros from tubs as he feels they are not only more reliable but also faster. The roads where I live are fairly free from thorns and glass so I can make no claims for their resistance to sharp objects.

Fit carefully, keep inflated to the right pressure and they won't let you down.
