Advantages: Nice when planing. Disadvantages: Nose breaks off too easily & BIC customer relations are very poor.
...I am an intermediate windsurfer who is hoping, within the next 12 months to make the leap from boards that float me to sinkers. I bought a Techno 273 in August 2000 and I have been blessed with good winds since then. I have been sailing it with a 6.8 BIC Logic freeride sail and a 5.5 Tushingham Storm sail in winds up to force 5.
It's an OK board as soon as you get it planing, its responsive and you can throw it into aggressive moves and it is quite forgiving. In winds that are not strong enough to get the board planing it is slow, it would be better to find a board with more volume for these conditions.
My major problem, with this otherwise pretty good board, is that the nose on mine has split and it has cost me £90 ($140 approx) to get it fixed. I thought that it was my fault as a progressing windsurfer going out in stronger winds...

Advantages: good frame Disadvantages: limated warrenty and weight limate
...this might look like a Great deal a 700 pound (£) euston scandium frame great value but think againg this frame might get all the great reviews but did they they tell you about the important information like the limated 12 month race waranty and 36 month standard waranty which is unlike kona's normal lifetime waranty also are you over 12.5 stone if your are this bike is out of your league it has a maximum weight limute. This does not mean that it will break if you ae over that but it invalidates the limated warenty this is a great bike if you have money to wast but if you are looking for a long lasting race bike go for the specilized m4 hardtail...

Advantages: Durable, Light, comes pre-knocked in Disadvantages: Weak Toe
...The Kookaburra Ultimate Belta, the name says it all. I've previously owned kookaburra bats, but this is the meatiest and lightest one I have used. It looks nice yes, but the most important thing about this bat is that it feels comfortable to use and performs well. It is the most reliable bat I have taken to the crease with me in my 12 year career, it has lasted me almost 18months for use both indoor and outdoor against red/white cricket balls in matches and red/yellow balls in the bowling machine. ( At speeds varying from 50m.p.h to 95m.p.h) The only down side to this bat is its toe, but all bats have weak toes. If you catch it at the bottom of the bat it will vibrate through quite alot. Overall, a solid - value for money bat....
