I currently play for a team called LM United in the Kingston and District League based in Surrey. It is a requirement of each team to have two high quality matchballs ready for use before each match. The balls that we use are of the 'MitreMax' variety and I have no complaints about them. The MitreMax is a FIFA approved football, infact one of the most popular FIFA approved footballs on the market. It is made from high quality PU leather and features a 26 panel design. We bought ours online for around £20 each so they are of mid-range price wise but offer top performance. You can purchase the mitremax in either a size 4 or 5 and can use them on both natural (grass) and artificial (astroturf) surfaces. I would definately recommend the mitremax to anybody who is thinking of buying a decent football for their team as it has excellent ...
Advantages: GOOD SOLID BALL - STAYS IN THE AIR - BOUNCES WELL - TRUSTWORTHY BRAND Disadvantages: TAKES A WHILE TO PUMP UP - WOULDN'T RECOMMEND TO USE BARE FOOT
. When you hit the ball correctly you know it as the ball doesn't move through the air it is like an arrow into the direction you booted it.
You can also curl the ball pretty well as the weight distribution in the ball is centre orientated so it will spin and curl if you do it correctly.
It isn't a heavy ball like other mitreballs I have played with where they hardly bounce and just float around the pitch rarely going over waist height but this ball isn't like that.
It is good for free kicks as the ball can either be blasted or placed into any area you want it to with great accuracy.
I have also had some bad times using this ball like for instance after being subsituted I took off my boots and sat on the sidelines. Minutes later the ball flew into my direction only for me to be totally unaware I had taken my boots off ... anyway ...
Looking for a high quality matchball? I think you've found it right here. My Sunday league side bought around 15 of these balls about two years ago, and all 15 are still intact and could be used as a matchball today. This ball is excellent to train with, and using a ball of this quality on a regular basis will improve you as a player. It may not be the most classiest of balls but trust me, this will give you the best experience when your using it. Mitre have been known for creating some very durable balls and with the Ultimatch I feel they have nailed it. It possesses an extremely tough exterior which can handle pretty much everything you throw at it - alot of balls will be rendered useless after a single thorn gets lodged inside of it, but with the Mitreball this is not the case, as the thorn cannot fully puncture the ball ...
