Fifa 10 has taken Football Sims to a whole new level

Advantages: 360 degree control, enhanced manager mode aesthetics
Disadvantages: Unrealistic COM transfers in manager mode i.e. Philip Lahm signing for West Bromwich Albion

Before the release, EA Sports told us that the new 360 degree control in Fifa would be the feature that would take football simulations to a whole new level. Well, they were right. In my opinion, the already technically sound Fifa franchise has become more dynamic and efficient in the gameplay. Instead of the standard 8 direction movement, which made Fifa 09 and its predecessors feel so robotic and unrealistic, players can now be moved in any direction, whatever suits the player. Competitor Pro Evolution 2010 Soccer has been released almost a month later than Fifa 10, this was seen by many critics as a bold, and risky move by Konami, and I feel that it is one which has severly backfired. Fifa 10 - Footballing game of the decade?

Advantages: Great Gameplay & Graphics, Friendly, Enjoyable, Family game.
Disadvantages: EA Multiplayer Servers sometimes slow.

Throughout the past decade there has been furious debates as to which is the better footballing game - Fifa or PES. I have to say that this year I feel Fifa might have just won it again with the outstanding, yet enjoyable Fifa 10. The good Aspects of this game pretty much knock-out the bad aspects of the game. Firstly, I feel that both the Gameplay and Graphics have improved a considerable amount since Fifa 09 - The gameplay more so. Some new added features such as the '360 dribbling', the advanced defending abilites (i.e. understanding threats more easily, more effective reading of the play), the more intelligent movements from the strikers (i.e. very rarely swaying offside, and easily being able to find space)are just a few of those illusive improvements. Then we have the new goalkeeper attributes, making the goalkeepers more ...

Fifa International Soccer (Mega Drive)

Advantages: Dynamic looking and innovative for its time
Disadvantages: Too many little bugs in it and no real players available

EA sports, its in the game! Unless you purchased earlier NHL or Madden Football releases from Electronic Arts, then this may have been the first time you heard these famous words! This was the original release from the Fifa series which has now gone on for 16 years which a game released each year. This version was first released towards the christmas of 1993, the slightly larger cartridge made this game stand out from all others at the time, there was something extra, more of a game, a yellow thingy on the cartridge, we were all intrigued! The game came with a big reputation, it got an official licence from FIFA to use the international teams and their respective kits and the layout of the pitch was more of a isometric view which was completly different to other footy games around at the time. The major issue i had was that ...
