SPACE 1999
=
Here we are again with another memorable sci-fi series from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson whose other 'Hits' included Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds and UFO.
Space 1999 was set on the Moon where a Moon base has been built and nuclear waste from the Earth was stored, but things are not well and soon the nuclear waste explodes blowing the moon out of earths orbit and sets it on a course out of the solar system.
The series then follows the crew left alive the Alpha moon base as the travel around the universe and as they meet many strange aliens and come across other civilizations and weird planets.
The program aired from 1975 - 1977 and actually only lasted for 2 series but with 24 episodes in each series it seemed to go on for a lot longer.
The crew consisted of some well known ...

I actually stumbled upon this channel by accident, whilst flicking through the channels one day.
After many years of watching cbeebies (bbc channel for pre school children) I felt it was time for a change.
Mainly because we had been watching the channel almost every day for nearly 4 years (not continuously obviously only for a few hours each day) and by now I think we probably had seen every episode of each programme shown at least twice over if not more :O)
It probably didn't bother Chloe or Lee, but was definitely starting to get to me.
And there's only so many times you can sit there and watch the teletubbies over and over again without before getting seriously phased by it, i am sure you know what I mean :O)
So anyway whilst flicking through the channels I came across NICK JR.
It wasn't as if I had never heard of the channel ...
