Today I am going to write about Mosi-guard Natural. I believe there are two to three types of mosi-guard. There's the spray, cream and wipes. Here, I am going to write about the lotion/cream version.

It is in the form of a 100 ml tube. From what I read, it is supposed to repel mosquitoes from me. It is useful for outdoor activities during the warmer temperatures. Especially during the warmer seasons (like now for example), the mosquitoes are out in force creating havoc to my enjoyment of nature.

The cream works as an insect repellent. The difference between a personal insect repellent and those we used in our homes and gardens is that the personal one is less harmful because it contains less dangerous chemicals. I am not saying it is no longer harmful, but to a lesser extent.
One has to apply the cream to exposed areas of the body. The assumption here is that insects will not penetrate through clothings. I would argue that it is possible that insect bites can penetrate clothes, especially thin silky, rayon or lycra type materials. Usually, I apply said cream to my face, neck, arms and legs. A thin non consistent layer would be sufficient. According to the instructions, it will give protection for 6 hours.
The scent is faint and hard to describe. The closest I can think of is a combination of mint and eucalyptus. It smell sharp but faint. Not strong at all. Another nice thing about this cream is it doesn't stain. The cream is white and leaves no marks on any of my Tshirts.
The only ingredient listed on the tube is Citriodiol. The closest information I could obtain is that this is a form of lemon eucalyptus.
I always wondered if I should apply the suntan lotion before or after the mosi-guard. There is no information regarding this on the tube. So, I am still wondering whether a layer of suntan lotion would render the repellent useless or not. So far, it seems to work, whichever order I applied the two lotions.
Does it work? Well, it does! I am one of those people who seems to attract insects and mosquitoes. My husband thinks they are just harmless little creatures but they drive me absolutely crazy!!! Not only do I find them irritating but I worry about virues that are easily transmitted by insects and mosquitoes. An example of this, which is getting quite a lot of media attention in the United States, is the west nile virus. The sole transmission media is the mosquito.
I bought mine from boots, as usual, a last minute purchase at the airport. It cost me six pounds but you may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere. It lasts a long time, so I do not worry about value for money but whether I can finish it before it expires.
I wish there is some natural remedy to repelling insects and mosquitoes, instead of a lotion that may contain chemicals. So anyone out there who knows of something, please let me know. I was told that chilli repels ants, but I'm not sure if they work with mosquitoes and I don't think I want to wipe myself down with chilli!:)
I tried to obtain more information from their website at www.mosi-guard.com but to no avail. It has been under construction for quite some time and is unavailable.

Quick review of Mosi-guard. Natural Personal Insect Repellent
If you're going away I really recommend mosi-guard. I don't really like chemically products so this was great for me. It doesn't ruin your skin so you can put it on your face, whereas you shouldn't really do that with products that contain Deet. Also it didn't ruin any of my clothes or melt my mobile phone like my last repellent did. ...
