Mosiguard Spray,
I brought this, whilst visiting relatives in Italy, they live near farm land, in the North, and the whole place was alive with every creepy crawling and flying insect you can think of, and all of them seemed to see me as their sworn enemy.
After being bit several thousand times, and scratched myself raw, I thought it was time to try and fight back, so I brought some blue smoking pads that you plug in a night time, which didn't work and some repellent, that just seemed to attract the Mosquito's.
I went to the towns Chemist, and after being told the same thing that every Bloomin Italian seemed to say ("They were after my Sweet Blood") the lady offered me a bottle of Mosigaurd Spray, before I go any further you will also need to buy the Mosigaurd Stick, as well to cover your face, neck and delicate parts.
The Spray comes in a 100ml Plastic White/ Blue and Green container, and an environmentally friendly spray nozzle, No Ozone Damaging Gases.
It's cost is about £8.00 - $12.00 Euro.
The spray itself is made from natural resources, which is predominately Eucalyptus Extract.
If professes to have no adverse side affects or irritations to the skin, and can be used on babies as young as three months old. I must admit, I had no side affects of any kind.
Apply by spraying the Mosigaurd on your largest open parts of your anatomy, quite a pleasant smell, and it soon starts to soak in, in seconds. But as stated before, you will need the Mosigaurd stick for the other areas, especially on your face.
I found that the combination of the two worked very well, and was soon enjoying a relatively trouble free break, the odd die hard Mosi still got through, but a lot of times I managed to get my own back with a slipper.
The amounts you will need will be gauged by the severity of the problem, It is supposed to give up to 10 hours protection with one cover, and is also water resistant. I was in a bad place at the wrong time of the year, for a normal seaside holiday, I would presume Mosigaurd will serve its use extremely well.
The manufactures state you can use it anywhere in the World.
I have how ever discovered why the Italians weren't getting bitten? The answer is Salami, eat as much as you can, and it comes out of your pores in your skin whilst sweating, the Mosquito's hate it, Next time I go, I think I'll rub a salami over myself first, That should repel just about everything and everyone.
