Wii Fit

Advantages: great for weightloss, fun for all the family, improves posture, balance and health
Disadvantages: expensive, can only register up to 8 family members

flying towards you but you need to avoid the pandas and the football boots because they smack you in the head and lose you points! - This one is massively popular with my youngest brother who loves to show of his skills!! Then there is a tightrope walking game and a ski jump game where you have to squat down on the board and at the right moment straighten up quickly to get a good jump score. These games are in theory less strenuous and less serious than the other sections available yet they really do improve your muscle strength, balance and even posture. Fit Cash For anyone with a competitive nature, obtaining high scores on the scoreboards for each game and competing against family members is plenty of motivation. However, you are also given additional encouragement through "Fit Cash". When you first set up a profile ...

Wii Fit

Advantages: Easy way to keep fit.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

Last Christmas, my mum (a.k.a. "Santa") got the family a Wii Fit - hinting at my sister and I that we need to keep fit. I'm going to admit, I'm a bit fat. Now, I'm not one of those people you see in documentaries who can't get out of bed because they're huge but I could stand to lose a stone or two. I used to go to the gym twice a week but I found it too difficult and it was straining keeping up with my trainer, and I felt embarassed whenever I told him I couldn't do something. I did lose about half a stone though so I was happy about that. When I started using the Wii fit I was a bit anxious about trying it out because it had been a while since I'd been to the gym and I wasn't too keen to let my family see how unfit I was! However, I've been using it on-and-off since Christmas and it's great! It's been about a month since I last used it ...

Keeping fit

Advantages: something different, fun for all
Disadvantages: doesn't exactly count as a weight-loss program

intense and complicated and we have to respond quickly. A Balance game encourages dynamic control and includes ski jump, slalom, snowboarding where one has turn the board sideways and more. Smashing soccer balls with the head was the best among the balance games. You also have a virtual trainer who motivates all the time with his compliments. WII FIT locks most of the games and they are unlocked after around 10 minutes of use. It means you will need at least 6 hours before you get total access. Also the unlocked activity can only be played in the profile who unlocked it. One cannot create his own workout session according to needs. These are some disadvantages which should be dealt with. Overall the graphics of the Wii Fit are quite adequate for a trainer as it gets its work done exactly how it states it would be. And as the console itself ...
