Advantages: Exercise for the unfit.....with advanced features for the fitter Disadvantages: Doesn't remember last session stats | Manual Incline
...---
The Powerstrider, also has an incline function, sadly though this is manual, and needs to be set before you begin your exercise session. It's easy enough to set the incline, while the treadmill is in the folded position, and there is a choice between 0,5 and 10% incline.
---Advanced Functions---
As well as the manual program, where you choose which speed you walk/run at, there are a total of 6 programs, each with 3 levels of difficulty. These programs vary, from one that gently increases the speed to a peak and then drops back down again (this is the easiest) to ones that involve running. Now not being very fit, I've not tried running (yet), but I have tried the gentlest program (on the lowest level) and that gets my pulse rate into the working zone. ...I bought this treadmill from Tesco Direct about two years ago and it is still going strong.
It sits beside my desk and folds upwards which is great for keeping it out of the way. It is then easily opened using a key on the side and the main belt drops down to the floor.
It has different speeds and also preset programmes which challenge your fitness by speeding up and slowing down at different times.
It is very sturdy and has an emergency cut out switch that you can attach to your clothes and a drinks holder.
The only thing I miss is the incline which you have to adjust manually when treadmill is off but for the money it is a great treadmill....

Advantages: Good cardio and classes... Disadvantages: but the weights area leaves a lot to be desired
..., spinning and boot camp. Unfortunately they do not really have any of the 'old fashioned' aerobics or step up classes that I like but I am hoping that they may be introduced again come winter.
The staff in general seem friendly and helpful although you will need to ask for help in the gym if you feel you need it, it won't be offered to you. As mentioned above the class instructors are motivating and enthusiastic and for the most part very professional. I sometimes feel that it would be nice if the reception staff were a little bit friendlier and didn't look quite so shocked if you say good bye or thank you, but maybe that's just my impression.
As mentioned, the gym can get very busy at peak periods. If you pop in at around 6 pm, you will have to fight for space on the treadmills, but the worst part is the stretch area. In my old gym...
