...Earlier on today i borrowed my friends hat and it was the champion ventair riding hat. This hat meets the EN1384 and the PAS 015 standards so this means it is classed as safe and you could wear it at riding schools etc. For £80-100 i wasn't overly impressed as i didnt think it was anything too special and didnt differ from my hat thats 1/2 the price! My hat is a 6 3/4 and the one i borrowed was a 6 7/8 but it was very very tight so if your going to purchase without trying i wouldnt! TRY B4 U BUY :) although the hat looks very stylish apart from the champion it is nearly identical to my less than 1/2 price version. The only thing i did prefer about this hat over mine was the chin strap that was very cushioned and i really liked that. Advantages: Comfortable, Stylish, Good value, Well built and Well ventilated.
Disadvantages: NONE!!!!

...A very comfortable and good value hat, which is incredibly well vented and offers wonderful protection to the rider, I would recommend this hat to everybody for its smart style, comfortable fit, and all round versatility. Despite having fallen off twice in this hat and having landed on my head on both occasions it is still in very good condition (although I would normally encourage replacing any hat after a fall this was not an option for me as a result of my limited finance.) and unlike most hats that leave your head feeling hot and sticky in the summer if worn for any substantial length of time the Champion Ventair allows enough air to circulate so this problem is avoided without me being left feeling that the hat is not solidly built.... Advantages: Cool, protective, safe.
Disadvantages: A bit expensve but worth it for the safety aspect.

...rest indefinitely, she has a fractured pelvis. She may come sound but the vets are not sure. Horses usually recover but apparently it is a difficult place. I may never be able to ride her again! Fingers crossed though, all I can do is give her time. She was bucking in the stable earlier though, she is fed up with being in, but she has to stay in for at least another 5 weeks (it has been 2 months). I feel really sorry for her. Anyway, that aside, I was riding her. I was very lucky in that I escaped injury, completely. I did an involuntary forward roll which I think helped me. The horse didn`t land on me. I had a newish hat (Champion Ventair) on so my head was well protected. There was no reason for the fall, I couldn`t predict it. We just hit a rough piece of ground in the wrong place and fell.
