This bike has a really good spec, XT rear mech excellent proformer the only thing that lets it down is the tyres they are a bit prone to punctures when used on road and are really only for off road use. i think that the forks are a bit on the heavy side but still work grate. for the price range would be hard to beat this spec. in my opinion the bike rides really well on cross country trails and is vary smooth and well balanced. i have used my bike ...

Advantages: exelent value for money, very strong can take some abuse
Disadvantages: the overall bike is quite heavy, and has bad saddle

I bought the 2005 model Fire Mountain in the beginning of last year. I rode it XC for a good 3 months after purchase. The bike performed well, has a good gear ratio (has capability to go extremely fast, and get up the steepest of hills). But the comfort was not great, especial on longer rides. Bombproof hardtail from Canada

Advantages: Robust build and a superb frame
Disadvantages: Average forks brakes and cranks. Also not the lightest

Kona Kula

Advantages: Great handling, climbs like a mountain goat
Disadvantages: Can be a handfull on rough, fast decents

To date I've owned three Kona Kulas, spanning a perod of nearly ten years. A good entry level dirt jump bike.

Advantages: Cheap, sturdy
Disadvantages: Poor gearing, unresponsive handling

My friend brought this bike a few months back and has kindly allowed me to review it. First off, its a budget dirt jump bike, so you get what you pay for. The gearing leaves a bit to be desired, and the overall feel of the bike isnt excellent. The specifications are quite good, but for the price it doesnt feel like much thought has been put into it.
