GT Chucker
Review of GT Chucker 2.0 by greasycookingpot

Advantages: Looks Good, Smooth Gears, Hardcore, Not Too Light Or Too Heavy, Comfy Ride, Good Grip
Disadvantages: Brakes Should Be Hydraulics, Forks Should Have Slightly More Travel

The Chucker is now available online at around £320 in the black colour or £350 for the blue (which looks better in real life than it does in the pictures). The Chucker handles jumps really well and, although the bash ring [the front part where the gear change happens- normally has about 3 cogs in it] is not best for speed & long distance road riding (I managed 40 miles in a day) but keeps the chain on during jumps. All the SRAM parts [all the parts ...
...a lot of thrashing about and have a really smooth change. The rear derraillier [the mechanism that moves the chain from one gear to another] even stayed together with my friend jumping on it. It is perfect for stunts as the front & forks are not too light (as in the Diamondback Groove) so you do not fall backwards during jumps and wheelies; the weight overall is pretty light . The tires have great grip on loose gravel but still manage well on tarmaced ... Read review

Specialized FSR XC 2007 Mountain bike
Review of Specialized FSR XC Comp by pistonfire182

Advantages: Good mulit-tasking bike
Disadvantages: Only supplied with summer tyres and brake system is pain in the neck to service

...kit, of course being a specialized it will be and over the last thousand miles which have been a mix of off roading fun and simple on road commuting i can say this bike is a good mulit tasker. its lock-out suspension makes a world of difference for when you need to climb a hill on the road and when your off road with the lock-out off, provided you have the correct inflation in the suspension its a strong firm ride and you can feel whats happening ...
...surfaces you can feel, etc. now although i rate this bike to be very good, and worth the money like all cycles it has its bad points. the brake system prooves a pain in the neck to bleed, re-fill, etc when your using the hayes bleeding kit, i found that the filling bottle kept braking and this resulted in brake fluid going everywhere! Many people from my cycling club agree that the kit is very bad quality. my other bad point is that the bike only ... Read review

I Keep A Curvy Blonde Locked In The Shed
Review of Dahon Curve D3 by BNibbles

Advantages: Cheaper than the market leader
Disadvantages: Doesn't fold so well

...500 quid. However, the Dahon Curve D3 costs around £400 when you add on the luggage rack, some lights and the bag to put the whole shebang in (don't be misled by claims that it costs £350). GETTING MY MITTS ON ONE Even better, I got mine off a geezer in Dublin who had only used it 5 times, and I ended up paying only as many Euros as it costs in £s to get it here, €329 to be precise including shipping. Of course, nothing goes that smoothly, including ...
...WHY THIS ONE? Dahon make a daunting array of folding bikes, both under their own name and for other firms (like Trek) starting at the top with full-sized bikes that merely fold (suitable only for transportation in a car boot) down to the Curve D3 which, with its dinky 16" wheels, has the potential for being as compact when stored as the Brompton. We specifically wanted something small, and with a 3-mile round trip in mind, weren't so worried about ... Read review

Gary Fisher Nirvana excellent value in a hybrid
Review of Gary Fisher Nirvana by aversetospam

Advantages: Nimble, durable, versatile
Disadvantages: Gearing too low for speed on downhills

I purchased a Gary Fisher Nirvana as a deeply discounted "clearance" item in the late 1990s, and have used it for short commuting and longer weekend rides ever since. The cro-moly frame and fork have worked smoothly and held up well, the wheels have taken a pounding without distorting, and the gears are still functioning without flaw. The small frame accepted fenders, luggage rack, and other unstylish but useful add-ons. This hybrid bike has been ...
...and off road use. Gary Fisher sold his company to Trek in the early 1990s, and I suspect that some of the models have been "decontented" by Trek as Fisher's personal involvement in the product faded. A bike enthusiast that I know told me that this was a carry over of one of the last genuine Gary Fisher products. I have not ridden later versions of this model. That may be the source of the intense dissatisfaction of the reviewer who found the Nirvana ... Read review

great bike lightwiegt and reliable
Review of GT 2006 Avalanche 1.0 Disc by carlsherry123

Advantages: good brakes fork and frame better than its competitors
Disadvantages: long stem

I bought a GT avalanche over a year and a half ago and I can easily say it is a great bike I do a lot of cross country mountian biking and the bike is great for the up hills and downhills. The frame is light and strong and is great value for money. The brakes are hydrolic so there is a lot of stopping power and for a bike at this price it is a bargin. The gears work great there are 27 in total and the shimano deore is a great rear mech. The rock ... Read review
