The Back Country aluminium frame is fairly light and uses the same frame as the £100 dearer Kona Caldera. The entire Kona range is famous for their long-lasting and sturdy frames; however at times this does sometimes come at a cost as they are often under-specced for the money in comparison to competitor's offerings in this price bracket. The paint job is a sort of burnished ...
Advantages: Excellent lightweight and bomb-proof frame. Strong durable components. Disadvantages: Slightly pricey with mid-range components.
...2006 I purchased a 2005 Kona cowan frame that i could custom build. This review is based on my experience on using the frame rather than the full bike supplied by Kona. Despite this I can comment on the specification and value for money of the full bike. The best feature of this bike is certainly the frame, retailing at around £499 alone. The components on this bike are chosen based on there performance as jump bike components. Taking into account ... ...are strong and durable. The more you pay for bike components, the lighter and more efficient they become without sacrificing any strength. The components on this bike are fairly average when compared to the quality of the frame. Therefore I think the bike is a touch over priced at £1000 rrp, but certainly worth the money. The frame itself is very light, weighing between 2 and 2.5kg. It has, in my opinion, the perfect geometry for dirt jumping. I ...

Review of Kona Cowan
This bike has a really good spec, XT rear mech excellent proformer the only thing that lets it down is the tyres they are a bit prone to punctures when used on road and are really only for off road use. i think that the forks are a bit on the heavy side but still work grate. for the price range would be hard to beat this spec. in my opinion the bike rides really well on cross country trails and is vary smooth and well balanced. i have used my bike ...
Advantages: under £100 Disadvantages: Too heavy, horridle comfort, poor value for money...do i really need to continue?
I bought this bike from halfords after reading some pretty good reviews....i now realise the people who wrote these reviews are either extremely unintelligent or are just playing an evil prank on you! Possibly the worst bike i have ever ridden!
The first time i rode this bike it fell to pieces...within 5 mins the chain snapped, then the handlebars came loose, then the brakes failed whilst the saddle moved causing some extremely foul language and ... ...only recommend this bike to someone who has wronged me in the past!
I don't mean to be too critical but i really feel that it is disgusting that products as poor and UNSAFE as this should be sold to the public!!!
Hope this is useful to you! I would strongly recommend paying more for a quality bike that will last you for years!
Happy Riding! ...

Review of Trax Outrage
Advantages: Good spec on bike, sturdy, mid range price, value for money Disadvantages: Not too exciting
...coast to coast where the Carrera was right up there and performed well against others despite my reservations. Have to say though, this bike gives you a good work out and after almost two years of daily commuting the bike and I have settled into a comfortable routine – Kinda like an agreeable but not terribly exciting marriage! This bike would make an ideal starter bike as it has all you need to do some milage in a comfortable fashion but don't do ...
