British is best
Review of Orange P7 XT by Pritch

Advantages: Gorgeous piece of kit
Disadvantages: Needs to be looked after to avoid rust

...bikes. Wrong. The Orange P7 is a rare thing these days. A mass produced, fairly posh steel bike. In fact, I've just got rid of an aluminium bike in order to get hold of this one, and I love it dearly. I've never loved a bike the way that I love my P7. The company aren't one of the really big boys. Based in Halifax, they are largely unheard of in many countries. Many Orange bikes are made in the UK, but this tends to be their full suspension bikes, ...
...available with either a rigid Orange fork or a Manitou suspension fork. These four options will take you from £600 for a rigid Deore P7 to £1000 for a hardtail (front suspension) XT P7. So, that's four options. What's the fifth? Well, £320 will buy you a frame with nothing hanging off it. Just a lump of steel. Popping into the pub for a quick bite after picking the frame up encouraged loads of comments like "Someone nicked your wheels, mate?". I ... Read review

Bombproof hardtail from Canada
Review of Kona Cinder Cone by bobbit139

Advantages: Robust build and a superb frame
Disadvantages: Average forks brakes and cranks. Also not the lightest

...the ride more than makes up for all of that. Kona have managed to make the handling agile and yet stable with good stand over clearance. Add to that good Canadian build quality with components that are built to last and good mud clearance and you cannot go wrong. ... Read review

Old Scott is still good.
Review of Scott Boulder by AmenTeen

Advantages: Solid Frame, Excellent Gears, Durable, Value for money
Disadvantages: Small pedals and seat, V form brakes (not endurable)

Scott Boulders is an MTB (stands for Mountain Bike) from Scott, limited, the leading resource of the best MTB in the world. Even if the Scott boulders is a 1999's production, it's very notable for the solid metallic frame and life longevity. The Boulder comes in two different bend of colors; a burst of dark grey, blue, silver, white and a little bit of red, and the second where the blue is replaced with silver for a sleeker chrome look. The triangular ...
...The handlebars are the Scott Strike Comp 1 P.G low-rise 600mm; Solid. The set width makes handling easy. The frame is the Scott Bi-Axial Alloy 7005 Liteflite D.B. Scott Disc D/out. One thing, I like about it is that the frame allows to ride more comfortably and efficiently, with more power, and less effort! the bigger, the better. But don't worry, the Boulder's frame works just fine! Boulder is equipped with 27 speed. There are 3 cogs at the front ... Read review

Specialized FSR XC 2007 Mountain bike
Review of Specialized FSR XC Comp by pistonfire182

Advantages: Good mulit-tasking bike
Disadvantages: Only supplied with summer tyres and brake system is pain in the neck to service

...kit, of course being a specialized it will be and over the last thousand miles which have been a mix of off roading fun and simple on road commuting i can say this bike is a good mulit tasker. its lock-out suspension makes a world of difference for when you need to climb a hill on the road and when your off road with the lock-out off, provided you have the correct inflation in the suspension its a strong firm ride and you can feel whats happening ...
...surfaces you can feel, etc. now although i rate this bike to be very good, and worth the money like all cycles it has its bad points. the brake system prooves a pain in the neck to bleed, re-fill, etc when your using the hayes bleeding kit, i found that the filling bottle kept braking and this resulted in brake fluid going everywhere! Many people from my cycling club agree that the kit is very bad quality. my other bad point is that the bike only ... Read review

I Keep A Curvy Blonde Locked In The Shed
Review of Dahon Curve D3 by BNibbles

Advantages: Cheaper than the market leader
Disadvantages: Doesn't fold so well

...500 quid. However, the Dahon Curve D3 costs around £400 when you add on the luggage rack, some lights and the bag to put the whole shebang in (don't be misled by claims that it costs £350). GETTING MY MITTS ON ONE Even better, I got mine off a geezer in Dublin who had only used it 5 times, and I ended up paying only as many Euros as it costs in £s to get it here, €329 to be precise including shipping. Of course, nothing goes that smoothly, including ...
...WHY THIS ONE? Dahon make a daunting array of folding bikes, both under their own name and for other firms (like Trek) starting at the top with full-sized bikes that merely fold (suitable only for transportation in a car boot) down to the Curve D3 which, with its dinky 16" wheels, has the potential for being as compact when stored as the Brompton. We specifically wanted something small, and with a 3-mile round trip in mind, weren't so worried about ... Read review
