If you are commuting too work, or looking for a ride around city streets dont get this bike. This bike is designed for off road use, the low grear rations mean that for on road cycling you wont get any speed. But for off road mountain biking its great. The bike does not make use of the 'cheap' grip shift gear changing system but uses the thum indexed switchng system. The gears are shimano branded. ...disapointed with it the brakes, if you are seriouse about cycling then i would get better brake blocks or upgrade to disk brakes. The gear changing is nice and smooth and has 18 gears, normal three chain righ and 7 on the back, the wheels on mine are 26inch, the front shocks can not be adjusted.
