Advantages: Very warm, great colour, comfortable & simple Disadvantages: slightly heavy
The orange glow of this sleepingbag kept us warm on the Northern Ice cap, south Patagonia. Our expedition took us through mozzie ridden temperate forest; snow and then onto the icecap itself. For a period of 6 weeks, this bag proved infallible.
Having been snowed in for a long period on the icecap, warmth was paramount. The Lamina remained warm even after becoming saturated with tent condensate. The neck baffle system worked a treat; it was simple and easy to use. The chunky zips were ideal to open, even with gloved hands, and over the 6 week duration the zips didn't 'catch' once.
If you're looking for a hard core synthetic sleepingbag then this definatley gets my seal of approval; if the icecap wasn't enough it's also stood up to some wet & windy wild camping in the UK lake district. ...
Advantages: small form factor, long battery life, built in video camera and FM radio Disadvantages: can't play music or videos without headphones
The Apple iPod Nano 5th gen is that much different from the 4th generation. The main features that are noticeable is obviously the video camera. Amazingly the Nano's form factor is exactly the same, if not smaller even with the camera. The video camera is only VGA, nothing special, though it comes in handy and it's only about £10 more than the previous model.
The 5th Gen model also has a larger screen. I love the super clear curved glass display of the previous model, and with the new model having a larger 2.2 inch screen, it's just a bonus.
Another great feature I love is the built in FM Radio. I find this feature very useful and convenient and I thought that this was the feature that the previous model lacked.
The 5th Gen Nano has the same long battery life of 24 hours music playback and 5 hours video playback.
So, if you have ...
Advantages: Warm, light, confortable Disadvantages: No shoulder/neck baffle, zip can snag at times.
The Piute (also availble; woman\'s Piute) is a warm and cozy sleepingbag. Its price is a reflection of its quality and appears reasonable compared to other bags of similar specifictions. Its lightweight design is very useful for back packing or anytime that space is at a premium. It comes with a small stuff sack that it fits into neatly, although could be compressed further (not recomended for down bags, especially not for longer periods of time).
The hood offers superb protection from the cold although it could possibly benefit from a second draw string baffle around the neck.shoulders area. However the drawstring around the top of the hood to enclose around the face is confortable and good at keeping the heat in whist allowing freedom of movement.
When using this bag i (very) occasionally have a little trouble with the zip ...
