Advantages: Lightweight, robust and easy to use Disadvantages: No interface to the computer.
...I was introduced to a fascinating new hobby, Geocaching, by a review written by scalywitch in Ciao Café. Geocaching is basically a modern version of treasure hunting combined with orienteering that employs advanced technology to locate the cache. Scalywitch's review highlighted the need for a hand-held Global Positioning System (GPS).
I initially used my TomTom as a portable GPS to successfully find my first caches. Now completely hooked, I realised that to continue with the hobby I need a unit that was lighter in weight, more compact, waterproof (a number of caches are hidden by water and then of course there is the snow and rain!!), a long battery life (imagine being half way up Snowdon and your battery runs out!), and one that is easy to read (both day and night).
I trawled the outdoor shops to find the best unit for my need (not...

Advantages: Price, responsive and stable Disadvantages: Not a ski for extremely high speed
...Just spent a day at Killington on my CMX Pro's. I was skiing the whole Mtn with friends and was very pleased with the snappy response of these boards. THey carved very nicely and were responsive on quick turns. Edge hold was very good on steeps and in icey areas. THis isn't a GS or racing ski, but for the advanced intermediate or low-level expert, a REAL nice board.
I should say that price was my main issue here. These were the 2007 (last yrs) model that I picked up NEW with the integrated bindings for only $300!!! Haven't seen them anywhere for that and it was the last pair of 173cm on the rack. I fugred they weree easily worth that and am very pleased with them after putting thme in the snow for the first time....

Advantages: Great all mountain board, durable, reliable, etc. Disadvantages: None that I've experienced!
...This board is outstanding! I purchased the 2006 model a year ago and I've been very pleased with the purchase. It's a great all mountain board, I use it for anything from speeding down the normal slopes, to catching air in the terrian park, to back country powder riding when I take trips. It's soft enough, responsive, and reliable.
All of this combined with the great service and reliability that Ride offers with all their products makes for a great purchase for anyone.
Although I haven't been able to use it too much in powder conditions, seeing that I live in North Carolina, where hardly any natural snow falls, I'm sure that the board would be just fine in powder conditions.
All in all, this board is the best board I have owned and even ridden and it works fine in any conditions, anywhere on the mountain and makes a great board...

Music inspired by The Snow Goose (to be precise, more later) - is in my opinion the Magnum Opus of Camel. Whilst lacking lyrics, and the musical variety of albums such as MoonMadness and Mirage, this epic showcases the band's talent and skill, and is... more
