Review - The HTC Touch Pro 2

Advantages: well designed, good touchscreen, good QWERTY keypad, improved sofware, good widescreen display
Disadvantages: Expensive, no spec bump, no flash module, heavy

HTC Touch Pro 2 It wasn't all too long ago that I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of HTC's first Touch Pro handset, but when I did get my hands on it I was a little disappointed. I obviously wasn't the only one as I now have in my hand the new version, the HTC Touch Pro2. Even with its improved software and a very nicely designed tilt screen, I still needed to be convinced this was a serious alternative to competitive Smartphone's like the iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97 and the host of available BlackBerry's. Design and Features There is no denying that the new Pro2 is a very visually appealing handset, the 3.6 inch touchscreen allows for a 480x800 widescreen VGA resolution, using a customised version of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Although it is very 'business' like in appearance, its metal and black ...

Review of HTC Touch Pro 2

The Touch Pro 2 won't please everyone but will do almost anything

Advantages: Has every feature you could wish for, good build quality, well thought out interface
Disadvantages: Big, Not for everyone

HTC's Touch Pro 2 Review A little background HTC's Touch Pro 2 offers a lot over my previous phone, the HTC Tytn II, I bought the phone because I was already satisfied with Windows Mobile and I have had good experiences with HTC phones previously- ultimately this review reflects the quality of two phones, one belonging to my father and the other to me, and so far we're both very satisfied. Key Background This review is based on: * 3 months use as my sole phone * Two units (and two owners... no replacements needed) * Use of the UK Vodafone network * Using a HSDPA connection (negatively impacting on battery life compared to a 3G or 2G connection) * Use of the default Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 Initial thoughts I bought the Touch Pro 2 because I am a fan of physical ...

Review of HTC Touch Pro 2

Go for the pedals - a whole new simmer experience

Advantages: works right out-of-the box, easy installation, comfortable
Disadvantages: has some features not discussed anywhere - might be a disappointment

This is a USB 2.0 compliant analogue game controller with three axis. Two pedals are linked together (rudder / Z axis), and each pedal has toe action (differential brakes for example). Its destined audience are flight simmers. It could be used for other games too, but results may vary. Just received the item, so I only have short-term experience. It is made of plastic, only essential parts are made of steel. It feels pretty decent though. It is about the right size, the space between pedals are just right. The length of the pedals is adjustable in three steps, with a push of a button. I use it on carpet, and it stays where I put. Should you still need more grip, it is shipped with self-adhesive Velcro straps you can use if you want. Two extra pads can be attached to either the front or back of the chassis for more stability ...
