I was never the best Ten Pin bowler at my local centre but managed to gaina respectable average with my older AMForce 4 ball. I have a medium to slow delivery and a fair amount of hook and rotation on the ball. When my AMForce finally bit the bullet It was time to find a new ball. Through no other reason than advertising in the Go TenPin magazine I choose the Nighthawk Torque.
I have never looked back since buying this ball but it has changed my style alot. The first thing of note is that this ball does react well, in either polished or dull styles. Imediatley this cause me a few problems because of my delivery speed. I was pushing this ball wider and wider and it was still coming back into the pocket. Most of the time a bit too far.My average started to creep up and up as the leagues went on and I got used to this ball. Even though this ball hooks alot for me, the bit about it that really impresses me is the length it can have before making its move from the break point to pocket. Even from the outside of the lane it can make a devastating move for the pocket very late on.
Unfortunately even though this ball has given me an average increase it has also brought about alot of inconsistances in my game from concentrating to hard on trying to control the ball. The occasional ball will gutter from trying to push it out to far and others will lauch off to the 7 pin. Its not the most forgiving ball for the slower bowlers. I think anyone with a higher ball speed or less rotation on there delivery will benifit from this ball more than I did.
