New for 2007, the Nike SasQuatch 2 Fairway Wood (Graphite); an innovative new fairway wood featuring a unique Monorail Sole, new Powerbow geometry, and Cryo Steel face. The new Nike SasQuatch 2 Fairway Woods feature a new Monorail Sole design, which enables it to cut through all types of lies. In addition weight has been added to the perimeter of the Nike PowerBow to move the centre of gravity (COG) further back than the original SasQuatch Fairway Wood, which results in higher launch and greater distance. Finally, a new Cryo Steel face means that there is a larger and hotter sweet spot. Key Features: New Monorail Sole: Innovative design makes it easier to hit from all types of lies. New Nike PowerBow Design: Added weight to the bottom perimeter of the new Nike PowerBow moves the COG lower and further back, resulting
Advantages: Large "Sweet Zone", Accurate and Long. Disadvantages: Superceded by the LD and Speed models.
...I have owned both the 3-wood and 5-wood in the Cobra SZ "Hyper Steel" FairwayWoods series for approximately 8/9 months and I have to say that I am very impressed with their performance. Previously I had not being a confident player with the fairwaywoods and had struggled for both confidence and consistancy. However, since changing to these clubs I have a new found confidence in my longer clubs and I believe that much of this is due to the amazing contrast between these and my previous woods. The deep face and large clubhead give assurance to even the least confident of fairwaywoods players and I think that the clubs appearance has had a major affect on me. Cobra advertise this "larger profile" as giving players "longer, more accurate shots" and I cannot argue with that from my experience.
Cobra are becoming a dominant force...

Advantages: Low price, powerful and nice design Disadvantages: Not suitable for high handicaps due to small head size
...The Mizuno MP-001 series of fairwaywoods are available in a wide range of lofts, with a variety of shaft flexes. Due to being released a few years ago, they are now extremely good value and can be picked up for around £50/£70 (steel/graphite) new and prices are coming down all the time. They are very good looking with a sleek design and look good over the ball. With a simple arrow alignment aid and a compact head these are better suited for the better-player who can guarentee a good strike. Even so, they are very forgiving compared to other low-handicapper woods and hit the ball a long way. In my opinion they are just as good as any other club out and are un-matched for value. For any decent golfer these are a good adition to the golf bag, and the 7-wood in particular is a lovely golf club. If you like to shape the ball it is also easy...

...I tried a Nike Golf Nike One Black Golf Ball in a match play knockout yesterday, I play off 21 and my opponant was off 12 so granted i did have a few shot in hand. I have never used a Nike one black (the ball is white however) but was very impressed with the result. I found the ball which has a thin urethene cover and a enanced 408 dimples very long to hit, Longer than my usual PTS Solo golf balls. I was very impressed with the length and how straight it flew in the air.
Off the tee I only missed two fairways but the length was very impressive. I won my game 3 and 2 and to be honest I didn't really need the shots. Really though i found the combination of the balls and my Ping G2 driver excellent. on the greens my ball did truely roll further and felt very nice to hit. I felt the disatnce almost with my first putt, and was never 2 foot...
