I bought these football boots (or rather my da bought them for me) when i went for my first training session with Shrewsbury about 2 years ago (2002). As i was a goalkeeper i never really looked at boots too much and tended to keep my eye on the newest gloves out (tip i dont think much of adidas fingersave goalkeeper gloves).
I got home from school and he said he had a present in my room for me. I went upstairs and there they were along with a pair of new goalkeeper gloves and a new state of the art goalkeeper top (i know most of you wont think that tops can become state of the art, but this one had grip on the chest). I basically ignored the boots and was fascinated by the gloves and top.
When i had them on that night i still didnt think much of them. They were comfy yeah but nothing id not noticed in a new pair before. Gradually i sadly lost my interest in goalkeeping and quit Shrewsbury and goalkeeping for good (maybe the worst thing ive ever done in my life). I began playing central defender for my local team. This is where i noticed my boots properly.
I had already had them for one year and the sole, studs and actual boot were in near perfect condition (actually when i cleaned them properly and waxed and put vaseline on them they really looked brand new). I began to notice that they really held my foot well and i could no longer feel the strain put on my ankle from a previous ligament injury. I also noticed that the studs griped the surface well in nearly all conditions.
After two seasons you would expect, like i did, for them to be falling apart but they were still in great condition (and it wasnt like i wasnt playing because i played every match from start to finish). I was amazed by the way they still looked and felt new. I even had friends asking me in school games when i got my 'new' boots.
They are boots for every position, not like the predators that were designed especially for strikers. They were also only about £35, again unlike the predators that cost like £120. I really loved the boots and still have them now for when my dad, who runs a kids team, arranges friendly games against the kids for their practise matches.
I feel that although they do cater for every position goalkeepers may benifit from them the most. The reason being that the studs hold well in all ground conditions, therefore when a goalkeeper is called upon for their fast moving feet the boots dont get stuck in the mud of tangled in the other lace. My goalkeeper coach (a few older readers might remember him) Grenville Millington, former Aston Villa goalkeeper i think, recommended them to the rest of the lads in training sessions for Chester City. He says that the boots arent 'bulky' or 'flash'. I disagree they really are quite flash, but not bulky.
I would recommend the boots to any football player even if they arent that high in the football world. But if your looking for a pair that will cost you an arm and a leg then these arent for you. They arent that expensive but are the best pair ive ever had. By the way ive played football since i was 7 so that is about 11 years! And they are still the comfiest, best looking, and have the best grip.
Advantages: Very Comfortable, Can Be Used For Football Or General Wearing, Smart Looking. Disadvantages: Pricing In Some Shops.
...and from Running to Golf. Nike Total 90 III is a product from a range of football boots produced by Nike. However, they aren't just used as football boots, many people also wear them as normal trainers fro everyday use and casual wear. They also come in many different sizes and designs and have plenty of style.
*Nike Total 90 (A short history)*
Nike has a fair amount of history with the Total 90 range. The predecessor of this style was called the ... ...of colour wasn’t so wide. Nike Total 90 III trainers were released in 2004 and took the market by storm. Within a week or 2 many people caught on and brought the trainers. When they first came out there were about only two styles available. However, as the year has gone on the range of colours has expanded so much that I’ve lost track of the different colours available.
*Range*
Nike Total 90 III trainers (or boots) have a fairly wide range depending ...

The laces are grey, red or blue with a strip of the colour down the front. The tongue, it is the colour of the boot with small 'total 90' written on it. **Price/Availability**

**Grip/Comfort**
Their is little bobbles on the bottom of this shoe which makes them ideal for football, hockey, netball etc. and are especially made for the astro-turf. The grip saves you slipping and can even keep you on your feet on a slightly wet grass. These are also great for jumping like, triple jump, long jump and high jump because of the grip and how comfortable you feel in them. The shoe is ideal ...

Advantages: Very durable, supportive, a little tight but great for its main purpose Disadvantages: the plastic material would sometimes crack and split
These trainers were brilliant for indoor football and gave my feet great support and grip which allowed me to perform optimally. It was good as it was also fashionable to have a pair of these; a lot of my friends had a pair in similar colours. I wouldn’t really use them for any other reason than to play football or sports activities because they would look a little silly as just casual shoes. Never the less they were a good pair to have which lasted ...

...on these boots.
When Nike said the lace placement would make the feel of the ball better they were right, it makes you more confident about kicking the ball, and more often that not, the ball goes excatly where you want it.
There many types of Nike total air 90, and they first made thier appearance in the 2002 world cup on Roberto Carlos, which also helped the publicity of the boot. I think that as far as value for money goes, these boots, all ...

...astroturff.
I bought the Nike Total 90 tf as I like the Nike brand ( not always see previous write up on Barcelona shirt).
I seem to go thorugh these trainers on the false astroturff pitches quickly so I dont spend a fortune, these trainers were well priced at £35 from my local sprts shop.
Although you can spen hundreds I am a firm believer that it wouldnt be woth it so an low/ average price for somthing you intend to duff up will do.
I play ... ...the side and a blue nike swoosh on the sole.
Speaking of which is a great desighn with grip pods all over the sole of the trainers you grip on the plastic pitch but not to much to injure yourself in tight turns as you need to do in a footy match.
The trainers also have enough grip for grass up to a relativly wet state but not to wet in which case proper studded boots would be needed.
For the price and protection and comfort these boots are excellent ...
