Advantages: Control, power transfer, efficiency etc Disadvantages: You might fall off once or twice....
...around / pushing you do you might want a more flexible sole; the more flexible the better for walking but the worse for power transfer to pedal) & fixing. Also style if you plan to walk around in them!!
I have a set M535 (LX) shimano pedals as well as a set of cheap M646 platform copies from wellgo.
On the shoe front I use Northwave arctics in the winter (the only shoe to have in the cold; Northwave use a shimano sole with their own upper), Specialized comp in summer & a set of Lake "skate stylee" shoes if I gotta walk anywhere in them!...

Advantages: Sleek, sporty, still looks good! Disadvantages: Feels strange but sure I'll get used to it! Women's version is horrible.
....
It's lightweight and well-fitted - although a girl measuring approx. size 12-14 I opted for the Small men's size, because, well, the women's shirt? It looks, frankly, terrible, in my humble opinion, with an incredibly unflattering scoop neckline and tight, overly fitted shape. This is a shame as far as I'm concerned because I bought the womens' away shirt last season and found it an excellent and flattering fit, and this season's just doesn't live up to that.
However, the one I bought is slim-fitting, and seems to cling in all the right places, despite being the standard design, with aerated panels at the sides and so on, and it's really very comfortable.
And yet, it does feel strange, because, simply, it has no shoulder seams! It goes from arm to neck without a break in a very clever way, but I'd never imagined how odd that might feel...

Advantages: Light, Fast rolling Tyre, bit pricey Disadvantages: Not amazing in the wet
...I've used a pair of these on my Time trial bike for a few racing seasons. In fact they were the tyres I was using when I recorded my P.B. for a 10 mile time trial.
They are light and fast, though grip is good for cornering as the twin tread design means the side rubber compound is far grippier than the middle. Conversely the middle strip is harder wearing.
So the twin-tread idea - i.e. two different types of rubber on a tyre with the characteristics suited to the job they need to do, is a very sound one, and a number of manufacturers use this nowadays - always hard wearing rubber in the middle, surrounded by softer rubber on the shoulder of the tyre to provide grip when leaning the bike over.
Price is ok - the latest versions are still between £20 & £25, the wear rate was a little bit high - they only lasted two seasons of racing 10...
