...Mention the Pro V1 to the average golfer and one of the first words they'd use would be 'expensive'.
Mention the Pro V1 to a decent golfer and one of the first words they'd use would be, 'long'.
Mention the Pro V1 to a good golfer and the word they'd use would be 'essential'.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Pro V1 has taken shots off my game. I am no expert on the production of golf balls, but as a low handicap golfer I believe I am able to review this as well as most.
Titleist describes its characteristics as:
Longer Tee to Green.
Straight consistant Ball flight.
Drop and Stop Technology.
Soft High speed Performance feel.
Shear and Abrasion Resistant Cover.
With none of this can I argue, but for someone who wants to know how this will affect there game, what does it mean?

Advantages: Lots of detailed information Disadvantages: Expensive, rather large when fully opened up
...When I look back to my early childhood it would seem that not long after I had learned to read and write that I had mastered the skill of map reading. Most weekends my Parents would take my Brother and myself up onto the Moors and I was always the one that was in charge of the map and the compass.

Advantages: Distance and spin are exceptional! Disadvantages: a little bit pricey to lose!
...This is one of the best balls out there especially for the lower handicap player who requires that little bit extra distance as well as the 'stop and drop' ability around the greens. I used to use the Titleist Pro V1 before switching to this as it was awesome around the greens but i moved to the ProV1X because it is slightly harder, thus reducing the amount of spin on the ball and giving me around 10 yards more distance and by keeping my ball around 5 yards straighter.
I hit the ball pretty hard and I think this is one of the reasons why the ProV1X suits my game. I also have a pretty tidy short game and I find that harder balls run about 5-10 feet past the hole instead of getting the amount of check spin I get with these.
Even though it is aimed at the more advanced level the only reason I suggest it for the low hanicapper...

The ‘Essential Edition’ of the Western Digital MyBook only has USB2.0, which for me, is fine as I can plug it into any computer I wish. Other editions include Firewire, which of course costs more and not all computers support Firewire.
