Advantages: Control, power transfer, efficiency etc Disadvantages: You might fall off once or twice....
...walking around / pushing you do you might want a more flexible sole; the more flexible the better for walking but the worse for power transfer to pedal) & fixing. Also style if you plan to walk around in them!!
I have a set M535 (LX) shimano pedals as well as a set of cheap M646 platform copies from wellgo.
On the shoe front I use Northwave arctics in the winter (the only shoe to have in the cold; Northwave use a shimano sole with their own upper), Specialized comp in summer & a set of Lake "skate stylee" shoes if I gotta walk anywhere in them!...

Advantages: Nice Design, Good Workout Disadvantages: Not as good as similar priced ergos, Water Goes Green
...I bought my Water Rower a couple of years ago. As a rower I thought i'd use it at home for some additonal training. It is quite expensive... but good quality ergos are..
The water rower is well built and nice to look at. It is more comfortable than other ergos but lacks some of the functionality of conventional rowing machines like the Concept 2.
The paddle make a satistying "Swoosh" noise when you take a stroke.

Advantages: Weight, Construction, Water Capacity Disadvantages: Storage Space, Cost
...- 5 hour ride and the flexible plastic tube is long enough that it reaches out of the opening and snakes through the retaining loops on the shoulder-strap, leaving the mouthpiece within easy reach while riding. It was also the first bladder to come with their "ergo-lock" angled mouthpiece which put the "big-bite valve" at right angles to the tube, making it much more comfortable to drink from. The locking feature means that you can shut it off, thus preventing unwanted leakage when in transit. The Big-Bite Valve is still one of the best in the industry, made of soft silicone rubber, you just bite it with your teeth and suck the water out. It delivers water at just about the right rate, much slower and you'd be struggling for breath while you tried to drink and much faster and you'd probably take too much.
Not much has changed on the most...
