Advantages: safer, less hassle, easy to use Disadvantages: More expensive then normal tubes
I have kitted my bikes out with these, for years I have hated getting punctures and now there is a solution.
I bought mine for £4.99 online from chain reaction cycles, free delivery so a good place for bike goods.
How it works
Basically within the rubber tube there is some fresh air reactive slim, that when punctured the slime oozes out of the whole and reacts to the fresh air.
This then hardens the slime and you don't have to drag of your wheel and doctor the hole in your tube, it save a lot of hassle.
There are two main types dr sludge, which I prefer and slime, they both do the same job in the same way but I find dr sludge better.
The future
Basically I'm not sure how long they live but they do work well, saving the purchase of new tubes and repair kits, its worth a punt at £4.99 to see if they work for you ...
Advantages: Virtually indestructable Disadvantages: Price, slightly heavier than average
As anybody who's ever managed to get a puncture along the length of the seam on their innertubes will tell you, riding with just a puncture repair kit is not a good idea. Realistically, you need to take a spare tube for the punctures that just cannot be patched owing to size/ham fistedness on your part. Also, if you're going to be whipping the tube out and putting it back in again, you may as well just get rid of the middle bit where you mess around with patches anyway. With this in mind, I always carry a spare tube.
The Panaracer tube is a fairly hefty beast. Your average butyl rubber tube is fairly flimsy, but this one could probably be used as a lasso for capturing deer or other wild animals that happen to be around if you get stranded! Quite frankly, I've never seen such a thick wall on a tube. Weight junkies will turn ...

These seal sticks are a dive stick aimed at encouraging children to gain water confidence.

At the other end is a black seals foot. Each one has Zoggs printed in black around the coloured tube. They are made of a smooth plastic. The tube is a softer a more flexible plastic than the head and foot. These sticks are quite durable.
