Brad Pitt, George Clooney and a whole host of other good looking guys planning the crime heist of the century, what more could you want from a movie! Ocean's Eleven is actually a 2001 remake of the 1960 Rat Pack caper film of the same name. I've never seen the original but I would like to so I can compare the two.
What's the ocean got to do with it? Is it set by the beach? No, Danny Ocean is the name of the game leader who collects together all his friends to rob three casinos in Las Vegas. And why eleven, why there are eleven people who carry out the crime. If you have seen the original of this ie, almost the whole of the rat pack then you yourself are indeed a rareity, and so is this film! dont expect lots of flashy and memorable SFX because it just hasnt got em!
Directed by Stephen Soderburgh and produced by Jerry Weintraub this is perhaps a film that many will enjoy. However it is how i would describe it as somewhat as a tv movie. it is also the sort of film that needs to be seen again whatever you think of it!
This is of course a remake and as we well know rarely is it that the remake is any better than the original but for this i think Ocean's Eleven has indeed surpassed the original which did rely heavily on the cast which included Frank Sinatra!
The film is indeed clever in its attire and is put together very well, this means that it is unconventional in the gangland type ...
